OK, I know we in Wisconsin are a strange bunch, consuming more brandy per capita than any other state and really liking our Old Fashions. We just returned from a trip to Seattle and I craved a perfect brandy manhattan with dinner. The bartender laughed at me when I asked if they had mushrooms or brussel sprouts for garnish. I had to settle for pickled onions. Not an olive fan. You have regional garnish? There is no bar in WI that doesn't have mushrooms as a garnish. Not all have brussel sprouts, but most do, along with asparagus, celery, shrimp, olives and bacon for bloody marys.
