I'm 10 days away. I've made a list of things I'd like to do when I'm there with my friends. I've made a list of the plans for the day of (getting to the airport, etc). I also have a list of things I need to do before I go, but nothing that I can do now, like packing. It's too early, I need my clothes.

So what are ya'll doing to fight the fever when the trip is a week or two away?

Watch Vegas movies? Read trip reports? I need something to occupy my thoughts :)

    Nothing will work.

Watching movies makes the jones worse.
Reading TRs will make you consider changing your already-made plans.

Here's what you shouldn't do... bowl a major tournament 12 hours before flight time. Talk about NO concentration.

Haha.. Yep I bet! I know that feeling when I try to get in a good weightlifting workout the day before I fly out. I normally have no trouble focusing, but on that day it's tough!

I guess I'll try to stay busy in other places with work and at the gym, and around the house I guess..... SO CLOSE, but so far away.:faint:

I leave in two days. I've finished packing for the most part, loaded up the iPad with movies and shows, and taken care of the all the other miscellaneous stuff. All club, pool and dinner reservations are set.

Now all I can do is wait and anticipate. :licklips:

There is no such thing as fighting the fever, so when you can't beat 'em...join 'em!

I have a thick "Vegas" dvd binder that holds abour 300 dvds and I have every Vegas-themed movie, special and tv show that you can think of in there including many rare and out of print movies. So I just take a trip to any era in Vegas history that I feel like escaping to before I go on my modern-day adventure.

My plans in Vegas end when the plane touches down --
everything literally "goes out the window" !:evillaugh
About the only plan I stick to ---
is whatever Vegas show I promised my wife........except Dion !:grrr:
    But -
it is fun, at home, to pre-plan.
    .
I watch all my Vegas movies + Rat Pack video + CD's.

As many have said before me, there is no fighting the constant thoughts when you get close to a trip. For a solid week before I leave, I'm pretty much useless for anything except more Vegas planning.

I watch Vegas movies and am on the board even more.

"What do ya'll do when you're all ready? " - I keep wanting to change that to say "What do ya'll do when ya'll'er ready?"

    Greetings from North Carolina.

    I work.

When I tell people I am going on vacation they take it to mean "I am going on vacation so if you want anything done before I am gone you better send it in now" so I always get a large mountain of work about two weeks before I go.

Well, me too. However, it takes me 13 hours to do 8 hours of work because of the time spent in Daydream Vegas.

I focus more on packing and my Vegas List of things to do and games to play.

No daydreaming of hitting the big one as expectations need to be kept in check.

Spend a lot of time reading trip reports in case there is something new to check out.

When I hit the 1 week mark I start to pick up my craps and blackjack books to get a refresher. I also make a nice music playlist for my trip. I have all of my previous playlist saved so i can go back and listen. Once I’m on the plane I love to watch a vegas themed movie. Since The Hangover came out, that has been my movie of choice every time i go to vegas. But all in all just try to keep busy until the 1 week mark. I feel that when you make it to that point the last 7 days fly by. Before you know it the stewardess will be saying “welcome to fabulous Las Vegas” Have a great trip!

Watched parts of Vegas Vacation last night... been hitting the gym hard, and getting ready around the house to keep it clean so when I get back it will be clean.

List is now color coordinated based on when I can start getting the stuff ready haha.

I play lots of blackjack - on the computer, double deck & 6 deck shoe games that I deal myself with real cards, etc - to try & hone my blackjack "skills" razor sharp & put my at the top of my game before each trip.

Of course, that'll only help keep you occupied if you're a blackjack player...

Come here and read stuff, help others where I can.
Play some slot games on iPad or iPhone, BJ games too
I'll likely start packing today, or at least take out what I plan to pack and get wife's approval...LOL
Day before I usually get a man's mani-pedi, so I look good in LV. Sometimes, maybe even a men's facial as well.
Occasionally, I will go to a local casino and play low, but play just to get the bug out some and, for lack of better term, "practice"

Normally, I'll watch Vegas films and those Travel Channel Vegas shows (for the millionth time), and up my time on these boards.

This time around, work is sending me to San Francisco the week of my trip, so at least I have that to keep my mind somewhat occupied...

...of course, I'll most likely be sitting in three days of meetings thinking nothing but, "Vegas Vegas Vegas Vegas omg Vegas". :evillaugh
