I have an exposed, outdoor deck .
I want to use this space more this Spring + Summer ---
while attending my 3 yr old.
I'd like to have some sort of covering to the actual wood deck --
I'm worried about splinters + a softer landing.......and in case, he
brings outside a toy.......he can push it along the surface.
I would NOT install anything PERMANENT ---
    for several good reasons.
I'm thinking something I can roll out + roll up since I don't want
    moisture accumulating under anything.
    I already have childproof sides/rails --
I just need something for maybe, an hour on a nice day -
so he can be outside with me.
    Anybody have some ideas ?

Some really cheap indoor/outdoor ,type you buy off the roll. Or ride around the neighborhood,if you see somebody getting new carpet check the stuff they're throwing out or maybe some excess pieces.
Go to a carpet place, maybe they have an odd piece they really want to get rid of?

Look in the outdoor rug in the patio section of home Depot.
Mine was in tan/white with a bordered pattern.
It was about $200 for a rug that's about 14'

It would probably get moldy or discolored if left on deck all year.
Wash and dry it well and store it inside during the fall/winter.
Make sure to power wash the deck before and afterwards too.
Mine has held up nicely for over 3 summers so far!
