:cuss::bang::grrr:I am steaming mad over the insulting, petty, pitiful comp I got the other day at one of my local Casino! It took me months and hundreds of dollars to get to 500 points, which is only $5. After a debilitating day where the slots were eating my bankroll, I finally earned $5 withdrawal, (not free play)and hoped the $5 could take the edge off of a bankroll eating day and lo and behold, I got less than two dollars back from that $5 I worked so hard for. It really is messed up that after hundreds of dollars they give you $ 5 back, but I was hoping after my bankroll was eaten I could use that $5 to get back to even for the day.

Don't laugh, but I have hit $100 on a .25 bet, and $50 with a .10 bet, so hitting a decent sized amount with the extra $5 could have been very doable. I was so pissed off with the insulting less than two dollars back after such a horrid day at the Casino that I was tempted to throw the less than two dollars TITOs in the trash but decided not to. After getting my bankroll eaten at this Casino and the insulting Comp, I am not so eager to return. They haven't even given me free play offers in a good year, which is also insulting. I am going to stick more with my other local Casino that gives free play at least twice a week to every cardholder

OK, now that brings up a good question. Why, do you s'pose, the casino would offer such paltry incentives? What's their motivation? Would you still go to this particular casino, even if they didn't offer any sort of comp at all?

I go there because it's not too far away from my house and they are the only ones who have Coyote Moon which can be very, very lucrative when it pays well. Also, they have two Casino floors, which is always a bonus. Their comp system is BS however and I am appalled that I haven't gotten any free play offers in a long while.

I often wonder. My typical pull of the slot handle is often in the $5-$10 range. Yet, I have seen offers come in the mail for $10-$30 in free slot play. Those go in the trash. A few casinos have "encouraged" me to no longer go there with these insulting offers.

Another regular casino used to offer me $1000 a month in Slot Play. We went often and almost always blew through it in a hurry. They cut it down to $500, then $375. Not sure where it is as we stopped going. They say it is because I play less. Of course I do. I actually sent the slot manager an email thanking him for saving me so much money.

I don't know what to make of your complaint. Without knowing what casino or actually dollars bet a session, it's hard to come to a conclusion if you are being treated unfairly. I can only go on personal experience with local casinos in my area that leads me to think that you aren't giving them as much play as you think. However, my other personal experience has been if things don't seem right in terms of not getting comped, the best course of action is to ask if things are accurate. I've had situations where my play did warrant comps and errors on their end kept them from me.

I dont chase comps which given my paltry level of VP play is a waste of time anyway. My opinion which people probably dont agree with is to play at the level you are comfortable with and accept whatever the casino gives or doesnt give. I feel that if you go over budjet chasing comps you are falling into the casinos trap .

This thread reminds me of a few years ago when I received my first mailer from Cosmo. When they first opened, Cosmo was notorious for bad offers to gamblers. Still, I had stopped in and played a few hours of craps, losing a couple thousand bucks, so I expected my first mailer to be, at least, a discounted room offer. Nope. It was an offer for a whopping $5 in free table play! What?!?!? I'm not sure they even had a five dollar game, lol. It didn't make me mad, though. I actually thought it was funny

I have never been offered a comp, unless you want to count head of the line at the buffet. I play an average of 8 hours a day, maybe more, and have passed thousands of dollars through the system. I guess I know when to walk away and when to stay.

How could you never register at those levels? Wait, you're not one of the paranoid ones who refuses to use a player's card, are you?

Reminds me of a recent trip I had. I have been going to Vegas steadily since turning 21. Once or twice a year mostly. One time a buddy of mine decided to join me who had not been to Vegas since the days where pit bosses had a lot of pull as far as comps go.

He kept saying, I'm sure I can get resort fees comped off afterwards. We just need to talk to a host. I said, you are right, but it's not quite like it was back then. His play is not quite what I play, and I already knew his comps backend comp would be pretty bad. So he goes up to the generic desk host and asks about getting the fees waived. Gives his player's card and then is told he's earned something like 6 bucks, and would he like to apply that to the balance. HAHAHA I just gave him the, "see?" look.

    His reply, "Might as well..."

But they might have a frequent-shopper program. And that's ultimately the point. Most consumer relationships these days have some type of reward system. Just don't buy shit you don't need or you can't afford simply to get some tiny percentage of the expenditure back, however.

chasing comps is generally not a good idea, Quite a few times I've said to myself " I need another 100 pts to get a free meal or whatever, that wont take long"...an hour later I'm in the rest, grimly eating my $100 buffet.

And how "free" is it if you spent "months" and "hundreds of dollars" chasing it?

I use Player's Cards religiously. I will call over attendant's when my card does not work. I have been told by pit critters on numerous occasions that I cannot be rated.

Why? I guess I don't get it. Are you playing table games or slots..V/P on machines or what? How can they not rate you? I am confused.

I was told by some of the floor people along time ago - it is not how much money you lose - it is how long you play and the amount you play for that
length of time. Example: One of my more unfortunate friends who is a terrible player, but thinks he is good, played for not quite
1 hour at 25-50 per hand and lost about 2,000.00 one day. He asked for a comp and got nada. They could have cared less that he lost that money
    - he barely gave them 1 hour's play. He had no history of long play - they were not inclined to give him anything.

But if you are playing 8 hours a day straight - I don't get how they say they cannot rate you.
