Usually I try to avoid big events in Las Vegas – especially when I won’t be attending that event. But in doing some “pre-planning”, the weekend of EDC keeps popping up as a time that would be very convenient for me to get away. I realize this thing draws huge crowds. But I assume that it is a younger crowd and that playing blackjack and eating steak at Carnevino isn’t exactly what they’re in town for. Plus, doesn’t the party at the speedway last all night? Does that alleviate some of the crowds on the strip at night? I know that there will be a lot more people on the strip than usual – sidewalks will be crowded, cab lines will be miles long, etc. But is there a huge effect on the casino, restaurants and bars? Are table minimums jacked way up? Will I still be able to find my VP games? Will restaurants require reservations? Will I be able to sit down at a casino bar and grab a beer and watch a game? Or is it just a matter of bumping into a lot more people than one normally does while walking through casinos or down the strip? (I would be staying at Wynncore, with perhaps a night or two at Cosmo, if that makes a big difference.) Any info you can provide about EDC weekend on the strip is very much appreciated.
