Looks really interesting. Something different, and not too far from the strip.

Attraction Review: Wayne Newton's Casa de Shenandoah
    BY: Rick Garman/vegas4visitors.com

The history of getting Wayne Newton's Casa de Shenandoah estate open for visitors is a long and tortured one involving all sorts of, well, let's just call it "unpleasantness." There were lawsuits and bankruptcies and plans for a Newton-themed car wash that I'm really only bringing up because you probably heard about it somewhere along the way.

You can forget about all of that, because the estate is now not only open for tourists, but it is one of the more interesting and unique things you can do in Las Vegas.

It is #1 on our list of daytrips for April. The reviews on TA are very good and a recent post on the TA Vegas forum has a good review also. Easy drive from the strip and from what I read you can get a free ride over there if you don't have a car. Hope it's as good as others say...we are doing the $95 tour and I will put it in my TR when we return in May.

we are planning on going in June to see the ranch and are signing up for a tour. i'm a big fan of Wayne's. Hub never was until i made him go with me to see him at the Stardust. even my metal head hub was impressed.
we found his house that weekend, and because the outer wall is so high, i had to stand on the roof of the rental car to see over it. Wasn't up there too long when LV's finest pulled up and shooed me off. Ahh, memories

seriously, i'd love to hear from anyone here who's gone to it :)

Wow. I am not a Wayne Newton fan but I am a huge fan of LV history and he is a big part of it so I will checking it out during my April trip. Bummer that my mom won't be able to join me as she has mobility issues but I'll go on the tour while she is a getting her nails and hair done at Caesars! Thanks for passing this on!

    Hi Flowers!

Don't know if I would pay $95 for the tour, but it sure looks nice from the Air.......

If you fly in from the North, (my flight usually circles in from the Lake). If you are sitting on the Drivers side of the plane lol,
and Look our your window......you will see Sunset Station, then the plane seems to follow down Sunset.
Just before you land, you can see Waynes place.
I always notice the scrolling up and down white fence first.....
Then the fountain, and the Jet on his property. Seen it from the air many times.

Nice to hear the attraction is finally open.

And yes, I'm also wondering where Wayne finally moved to? Maybe Penns old house? lol

How do you know he still doesn't live there? Like the Downton Abbey family..

Deb, I'm glad you won't have to climb the wall next time! Yeah, my mom & I saw him at Stardust many years ago; so glad we went while we could.

I'm hoping to visit the Casa in February, will let you all know how it is. I can easily lose $95 in 1/2 hour so the cost does not deter me, ha.

P.S. Thanks to whomever changed the Case to Casa.

Wayne downsized as part of his bankruptcy reorganization. He is living in the area nearby Shenandoah in a 3 million dollar 20 acre property (I guess cutting the grass was becoming too much for the 73 yr guy).

While Casa De Shenandoah looks nice, no way I am shelling out $95 bucks for a tour, or even $35 for that matter. Still in the grand scheme if your a heavy slot player a tour at Casa da Wayne will save you a few bucks
you would have dumped into the one armed bandits.

VT did a great review of Shenandoah - http://www.vegastripping.com/features/feature.php?feature_id=260&page=1

    Along with the LA Times

    http://www.latimes.com/travel/lasvegas/lasvegasnow/la-tr-lvn-las-vegas-attractions-casa-de-shenandoah-wayne-newton-20150918-story.html

Or you can just read about the greatness of Casa de Wayne from their website: http://casadeshenandoah.com/

The Casa website alone is worth a peek, since it launches with the gates of Wayne's former home opening before you with a magnificent white stallion crapping on the driveway all while being walked by Mr. Vegas himself.

I've always regretted not seeing him perform. His music isn't my kind but he's a Vegas legend and I should have gone when I had the chance. $95 is a bit pricey for me but I'm thinking about it.

Saw him about 30 years ago. The bravado and swinging gold microphone was all Vegas could be to a young kid. He gave it.
