We've taken the WAX bus several times but never from downtown to the airport. This is also our first time flying with Frontier, so I'm a bit nervous. When the WAX bus arrives at the airport does it drop off passengers near the check-in counter for the flights? Or do you have to walk past the parking garage with luggage and possibly take a tram to check in? I want to allow enough time.

    Thanks!

We take it to/from the airport (to/from downtown) every trip. It drops you off the same place you pick it up at the airport - "Level 0," which is where all the limos for the high rollers wait. It's a healthy walk to check in, so nice to have roller bags rather than a lot of stuff to carry. No tram or shuttle involved or available.

Do you think if we arrived two hours before our flight on a Wed morning we'd have enough time?

By arrive are you talking about the bus dropoff, the ticket counter, or TSA checkpoint?

Personally, on outbound trips, I would never risk a bus to save $15. The checkin times if you have luggage are set in stone at most airports. We usually leave the hotel at the 2 hour mark, grab a cab and still have time for breakfast and drink at the airport.

2 hours is way too early IMO, if it was 45 min or an hour, I'd say maybe you're pushing it, two hours is plenty of time.

There's a bus that would drop us off two hours before our flight.

We'd have a 24-hour pass from the day before and figure a cab would be $30.00 so it's a good savings.

I always try to be at the Vegas airport with 1 hr 45 min or 2 hours to spare, so I plan my bus trip accordingly -- I try to take the WAX that leaves as close to 2.5 hours before my flight as possible,

That's always been enough time for me, but then I don't mind being at the airport a bit early. I don't like to rush.

The WAX takes 25 minutes to the airport from downtown. There are only 3 short stops between downtown and the airport, at the 4th stop you're there. That's only about 5 minutes longer than taking a cab and getting long hauled. And like you say, it's $30 cheaper and a relaxing ride.

I think you'd be okay Candy Apple. We only have carry-on so don't use time checking our bags but always have plenty of time for a full sit-down breakfast, browsing the stores and a smoke or 2 before we leave.

I've taken it several times without an issue to the airport. Most convenient if you boarding from a downtown casino, or the Las VEgas Blvd. / Tropicana corner.

We use the WAX both ways and never had a problem.. There is always a line at the airport check in and the TSA goat rope is unbelievable. We fly Delta and there are always lines everywhere.. We schedule the bus that is about three hours from our flight and always have a little time to spare to gamble a few more coins.

Is the WAX bus stop on at Tropicana on Las Vegas Blvd across from Excalibur, or is it at Tropicana on Tropicana Blvd. across from MGM?

It's located outside of the Tropicana across from the MGM. if you where to take the pedestrian walkway from MGM, it will be just north (to your left) of the driveway for cars pulling into Tropicana. A cab isn't vert expensive for two or more, but you'll save ten + solo on the bus, and it will only take you about 5-7 minutes longer once the bus arrives.Buses areusually near mpty, with a few tourists and airport workers.

Is there any issues with bigger than carry on luggage on the wax bus?

Nope, they actually have luggage racks on the bus. They will take all sizes of luggage.

Give yourself enough time incase the WAX doesn't show up. That happened to us our last trip and we had to cab it to the airport after waiting 30mins.

Thank you all for your replies.

We've recently decided to switch from The D to The Linq due to reports of very slow elevators at The D.
