Met a groom who grooms for coach Q. Hawks coach.

If interested in racing I reccommen "The horse that god built" about secretariat. It focuses on his groom eddie sweat. The life these guys live is tough, but a great look at the backstretch life. Also a great book on the greatest athlete of all time.

I know nothing of quarterhorse racing but this is exciting and fun!

 

Race 5 $3200 claimers.... maidens thoroughbreds Yuck. I thought Hawthorne had bad horses.

The only time I went to the horse track (Fairmount Park) I got wasted on ~cheap Budweiser. Drink prices any good there?

And you're betting exactly like I did. May have spent more on beer than wagers...

 

Last race for us... don't ask why I put 4/5 down in both tri and exacta... tired.


Side note lots of kids, like 12-14 going to the autotote machines and betting... odd

All in all a fun night. Would like to stay for two races but kid needs sleep for the mouse tomorrow.
