We walk for the exercise (and to burn off the great food and liquor) but jsut walk tell we fell like turning aorund any more. Did pretty mucht he full strip in December as it was nice out and we started out early ... stop for lunch and dinner and a show in between as well. Just pace yourself.

I have calloused feet from being on them all day and running regularly so I dont get blisters. My gf, on the other hand, is crying the second morning from the blisters and sun burns.

    Thanks for the responses..

Most of the time, I try walking on "Margaritaville, CR" side of the strip, as you can just hop into the casino if u want to refuel..On the other side, its a long walk to get into the casino..

I always have a beer in each hand while walking (balanced diet)..

It never rained while I was in Vegas..

Agreed. It is very easy to slip into both the Flamingo and Harrah's to cool off when walking up the strip. The west side, not so much. Not to mention working your way past Harmon and City Center on that side of the strip.

I like to walk the strip, nothing in particular though. But on my trip on June 1st it was just too hot to walk long distances.

That situation is seriously the bane of my existence when we are in Vegas. It just ticks me off so bad that you can't walk down the dang street on that side anymore.

I too have calluses on my feet (where the bottom of the foot meets the back of the heel). Once I walked a bit too much, and I got a blister underneath a callus - man that sucked.

We usually walk about 3-4 miles every morning with the dog.

In Vegas, our daily walk is from MSS to ElCo and back. After that, it is just drink and gamble.

I know, not walking the Strip.

I just take the Bellagio tram to Monte Carlo when I'm walking that way. Nothing really in City Center I want to do. Can't afford any of the shops and the casino is nothing special.

    Oh well ...

Went to Vegas with my then GF and her best friend for the GF's 21st Bday...We stayed at Bellagio and the girls HAD to have a big slushy drink...we knew there was a place at Mandalay Bay that sold them...it didn’t look that far so we decided to walk...Vegas virgin MISTAKE! Especially since the girls had to get all dolled up and where the biggest heels they brought (of the 25 pairs!!)

By the time we got to the actually strip from the Bellagio entrance they were already complaining about their feet hurting...so I had to stop at CVS and get a bottle of champagne to get my buzz up before I got too annoyed.

We finally made it to Mandalay Bay, the girls found seats and had me scope out the slushy place. Finally got their slushy and cab'd it back to the B.

While walking around the next day we realized the slushy places are not as rare as we thought...they are freaking everywhere!!! But it made for a great story!!

Ouch that sounds painful. Hopefully I never have the pleasure of having one. I also use these and they get your feet hard.

I love walking the strip and hardly cab it anywhere except when I have to be somewhere (reservations, etc) and if it is more than a couple hotels away. When we were there for our anniversary my husband (not as crazy Vegas as I am) was like "all we do is walk" LOL so I had to learn to slow it down when I go with him.

We walk everywhere, too. It's great exercise, and I almost always lose weight, even with all the eating and drinking we do! We have walked from PH to The STRAT and back more than once, but it was lot easier to do at 40 than now at 51! Ha!

We also always walk from wherever we are staying (usually Paris) down to the Hard Rock, too. I collect the $5 special event chips from there. Not much shade to be found on that little jaunt.

First visit to Las Vegas me and the wife walked from MGM to The Strat and back, and that wasn't just a straight walk either we were in and out of various hotels along the way.

We fell into the trap where you tell each other, "the Stratosphere doesn't look that far away"

I think our first time in Vegas the walking didnt seem as much since we were in awe of checking everthing out. I do still walk when I'm there and don't mind the walk but it does seem longer walks than first time.

One time we stayed at Aria and the backgammon tournament (I had matches every day) was at Bally's. I thought, "no problem, it's just across the street!" The walk was a solid 30 minutes or more one way. It's easy to forget about all the distances you'll walk once you get inside the casinos/hotels, not just the distance on the street. (Of course, Aria is probably the biggest offender in this category.)

Back in the day we walked from the Sahara to Hard Rock. We didn't want to spend money on a cab and knew it couldn't have been that far away
