I don't normally play TDB or QQ in a casino (much less a merging of the two), but on the vp.com website daily tournament, this is today's game. Several times I have been dealt AA22x. Do you know what the correct hold is here?

For those not familiar with the game, quad Aces w/2,3 or 4 pays 4000.
Quad Aces with any other kicker pays 1000.
AA222 pays 400 credits (a quick quad, where you have 3 of a kind and the other two cards add up to the value of the trips).

Today I've played it saving just the Aces and saving AA22, but haven't connected with a quad, quick or otherwise. But I'm just wondering what the correct play is.

AA22x you keep. An A gives you a full house, and a 2 gives you 400. AAA2x you keep also. Dropping the 2s severly reduces your odds at 4000 for a natural AAAA2,3,4.(you'd almost be better off keeping only 1 deuce, almost)

However if you have a 10,10,10,5,x you drop the 5 as it will only give you a quick quad with the remain 3 5s, where as there is a multitude of combos that could come out to 10, or a 10 itself in the final 2 cards. Any other 10,10,10,S,x where S=smaller than a 10 but not a 5 you keep. And any senario like that with 888 or 666 or 444. Don't keep only one that halves the value of the 3 of a kind.
