I was in Vegas this past week and spent most of my time gambling at Quad and Cromwell. This was my first time visiting the Cromwell, and I really liked the vibe. In my 8 or so Vegas trips I've NEVER had cocktail service so good while gambling. I suspect that may be a combination of (1) sheer luck, and (2) the fact that it's new and they're trying to gain new faithful visitors. Regardless, I was blown away. Drink service came fast, the waitresses almost always asked my name, they gave me their name, and even a few shook my hand while I was playing. Also, the waitresses were even suggesting I get a Hendrick's (gin) and soda instead of the house gin.

Anyways, I just wanted to share my recent experience. Has anyone else here experienced anything similar at Cromwell?

Good to hear. I cannot speak to the drink service, but I walked through Cromwell for the first time last week and was very impressed with the décor and general vibe of the casino

I was at Cromwell in May. The CW's and service as a whole were par excellence. Most of the time there were at least 2 people attending to your needs at a time. They introduced themselves and if you needed anything else they did their best to see to it that it did.
And the women were gorgeous as well. The Cromwell made a lasting impression on me.

Can't wait till next month when i go back to Cromwell. At the time i went, Cromwell was only partially opened. No rooms, pool, eateries........just the Casino.

Did i mention the CW's were gorgeous? I wanted to take a few pics of the CW's but held back. Not sure if they are allowed or whatever.
Perhaps next month i'll ask, i was too chicken last time.

I was in the Cromwell a few days ago and echo the great service there. We sat at the VP bar to watch the NL vs Argentina game. We chatted with the bartenders, CW and even Rodney, the security guy. I had an encounter with an inebriated guy that prompted a visit from security. Security and the medic that responded were very professional. Everyone we dealt with at the Cromwell was doing a good job and seemed to enjoy their work.

I got a voucher for $100 to stick in a slot machine. As far as I can tell, all I have to do is show up. Which I will do in a couple of weeks. Looks like they are really pushing to get some return visitors. Good for them, hope it keeps up.

We have plans to check it out.
There have been a few posts talking about the great service here.
We have reservations at Giada and will probably hang out and gamble there for a while.

My last encounter with the Cromwell in May was very positive. The service, both drink and dealers was clearly a cut above the others. The first two days when I requested only water for my beverage the very polite (attractive too) CT waitress provided me a full size bottle of Figi. Very impressive! Beginning day 3 till my last fifth day they started serving the small bottles of Figi but still Figi. As to the dealers, every time I sat down at a table (BJ, 3 card, or LIR) I was welcomed with an introduction with their name and they asked my name so the could address me by name while I gambled. Some were very good remembering everyone's name, but most eventually forgot when several changes of players happened but it still was nice (and fun) . I love the Cromwell and will return in September.

Stupid question I know, but I am not a Strip person. What is the Cromwell, or rather what did it used to be? Bill's?

Yep... it's the former Barbary Coast and then Bill's Gamblin Hall. Right there on a prime corner of real estate Flamingo and LV. Blvd.

My experience was just the opposite:

Went there less than 2 weeks ago at 10:30am. Yes it's early, but when it's 110°+ everyday, you have to start your strip walks earlier. Played there for nearly an hour, and never saw a single cocktail waitress until I was on my way out. There were 2 of them standing and chatting with each other by the West doors. No wonder why I couldn't get a Bloody Mary, they were too busy gossiping. :grrr:

That experience left a sour (and very dry) taste in my mouth. Don't think I'll ever go back after that!
Besides, MLife gets most of my play now anyways. Maybe they knew that!

Man, this is refreshing to hear. It's amazing how these things like introducing yourself, asking your name, commitment to service, smiles and friendly faces will do. Doesn't take a lot of money to do, just proper training.

Good job, Cromwell. Hope things continue to do well for the efforts you are doing.

Agree with the above posts about the Cromwell's service - went there in June. Excellent and gorgeous cocktail waitresses, prompt service, strong cocktails. But it was more than that - the cashier cage personnel was so friendly! Know the place is new, but very enjoyable. Worth the daily walk from PH in the 100 degree heat!
