I just checked Luxor rooms reservations from July 8-10 (Fr-Sun) and the rooms are around $67 per night. This is the weekend after 4th of July and this is a good rate I might bring my kids with me.

So close to $100 a night when you include the resort fee. People keep forgetting that damned resort fee!

Yes but for 2 nights, $200 total isn't bad for a weekend in the middle of summer. Heck, another strategy is coming in from Saturday to Monday, use one of the Myvegas rewards and stay Sunday for free (minus resort fees). Basically paying around $150 for 2 nights.

If you're happy, that's all that matters. I am intrigued to try it at least once as well. Maybe a split trip sometime......

Honestly, I stayed in the Tower and I hated how long it took walk downstairs and to the casino. The rooms are fine, nothing spectacular.

I've stayed at the Luxor 6 times in the past 8 years. I like it because it's low key. Less crowded than the mid strip. The Tower rooms are much nicer.

I stayed at Luxor when it first opened.
I guess, the canal boat rides are all gone ?....they
used to have a guide talking about all the structures.
I didn't like the feel of the pyramid room I was in --
as someone mentioned - I had to watch my head ( bump ) near the windows.
    *
I witnessed a woman and child work as pickpockets just outside the door.
And my buddy, worked something out with a crooked dealer in there.
    THE GOOD 'OL DAYS.
    *
What year was that ?.....haven't stayed since then.
I did love the theme !

I used to love their version of the "derby" game with the camels, I'm sure that is long gone. I actually went in the Luxor for a minute my last trip to show my kids, it's the first time in prob 15 years that I had gone in there we just redeemed a my Vegas voucher for the buffet which I don't recommend.

I just got back from staying at the Delano this past weekend and booked a pyramid queen at Luxor since my kids are coming.

Came out to $244.00 (including tax, resort fees/tax) for 2 nights from FRI-SUN in June. Couldn't resist this offer and my 2 young daughters love this hotel so why not.

Staying at a nice place like Delano and going to Luxor....don't mind it at all.

I stayed in the Tower and the room was just fine. I stayed in the pyramid and thought it was passable...just passable. The hotel is fine for a low-mid level Strip hotel. The pool is okay, better than most at that level. Spa is okay, too. Not a bad place, but not one comparable to one of the mid or upper level properties on the Strip.

    I like the luxor

The rates are great. The casino is right. You got everything else within walking distance. Take a cab or whatever. It's Vegas.

On a solo trip I stayed i a pyramid room and was satisfied. Themes are one of the things that make Vegas iconic!

Exactly. I'm actually in my room to lay my head down not ponder about the stitching patterns on the linen or the scuffs on the drawers. My kids won't notice so I won't either.

In March, I had a two-night stay in the Pyramid for business and a two-night stay in the Tower for leisure. Overall, the property is okay. I'm a fairly low-roller, so my "free" MLife rooms are usually for Excalibur or Luxor. In that context, I was satisfied with what the hotel offers. Yes, the rooms are old, with dinged up furniture and torn up carpet, but the location is convenient.

Personally, I greatly prefer the Tower. It's closer to the pool, spa, and Uber stand. Plus, the Tower rooms have a pretty nice soaking tub, while the Pyramid is shower only.

We stayed in both the Tower and the Pyramid and to be honest our Pyramid room was in way better shape. The Backstage Deli and the Buffet are great for breakfast. Love their pool area, the waitresses at the pool are great, prices are reasonable. The casino is a lot of fun and we always seem to do well there but they should put more effort into keeping the casino floor and machines clean. The center bar is great to relax, have a drink and do some people watching. But since the place is dirt cheap you might not always be impressed with the crowd it attracts.

We are currently staying in a Luxury Tower suite, which is very nice. Luxor has become one of our go to places because we are always able to get rooms comped on weekends and always get upgraded to a suite with a Gold card. Rooms are always clean. The Backstage Deli is one of our must have meals here. Very good food at reasonable prices for the strip.
