This question comes up about every two weeks, so this site would be a good website for beginners.

Basically wizardofodds.com is a good place to start, they have a whole section on Video Poker at http://wizardofodds.com/games/video-poker/ and http://vpfree2.com is a place where you can go to find the better pay tables and you can play some games free at http://www.videopoker.com

Someone used to sell a program that would train you on how to play depending on the game. Not sure if they still do or not. Would love to find it again as well as one for the cell phone.

That's the one I continue to use. Used it originally when I learned VP on a desktop. Now I have it on my iPad and always run a couple hundred hands on the way to LV or other gambling destination to refresh and sharpen my skills. I think the Apple app cost $10.

Used to have that on an old computer. Now I have no clue if I could ever find the original purchase e-mail. I've contacted them and hope they may be able to look up a purchase and let me download or buy at a reduced rate.

:beer:I downloaded the program to my PC last night. I need to work on my game badly. Anyway it was $30 for the download and a hard copy is mailed within 2 days. The program itself is extremely nice. Hard to believe there is a better one out there. :drunk:

In a recent discussion about training programs here, I discovered a couple of others in addition to WinPoker (still my favorite though) -

    - "Video Poker Wizard" app for iPhone and iPad (good statistic readout on your play)

    - "Best of Video Poker" from Videopoker.com (can get expensive because while app is free, the modules for every game you want are a few bucks to give full operability - BUT, this one is the most precisely realistic to the games you will find in a casino, meant to simulate the precise games you see on the floor, and also has training features. WORKS ON iPAD ONLY though - not iPhone)

I am getting to know the Best of Video Poker app - and liking it. I paid for many of the additional modules - at least the ones I see in the casinos I play in - and like how realistic the appearance and play are.
