I still take my strategy charts with me when I play video poker. First I'll determine what the best game is as far as pay tables. Many times you'll find a close to full pay game on the same machine that has less than favorable return for the player on other games.

Strategy Charts are perfectly legal and acceptable. They can be found and printed from dozens of web sites, or purchased at many locations. I usually get mine from the Gambler's General Store on Main Street. I just Googled 10 different web sites from which you can print them out for free.

In some casinos Bonus Poker is King, in others it's Deuces Wild or Double Double Bonus with a progressive.

That's only half the battle. Now we must determine the highest and best probability for maximum return on any given hand, what to hold and so forth. You'd be surprised at how well basic correct strategy will pay off if you know how to use it. Many times I threw away a pair of Kings in favor of 4 to a Straight Flush and hit it.

How many times have you had 3 to a Royal, and drawn to it and hit a Flush?? Or drawn to an Outside Straight in lieu of holding a low pair. These moves sound like a no brainer but when we're playing fast and furious sometimes we might make a mistake, like making sure all the cards we want to hold have been held correctly. Sticky buttons on a Bar Top can cost ya! All those beers that have been spilled on there. Has that ever happened to you?

Sometimes you might just want to play where you are. If the pay schedule is acceptable for the want of some casual play and a few comped cocktails the we might want to go for it. I'll play 8/5 Jacks or Better at the bar if the bartender is liberal with the top shelf libations, in lieu of a slightly better pay table at a machine in no man's land on the floor where the cocktail waitress comes around once an hour if you're lucky.

Like the new sticky post said, vpFREE2 doesn't list the less than average pay machines. So, if we're going to play them we should at least make the best of it and get a few drinks in the process.

    Good Luck!!!

I take pictures of pay tables and strategy charts with my phone - always there if needed.
