If im sitting at a bar playing vp do you get free drinks or you still have to pay- Yes, free at that vast majority of properties.

If they are free does this apply to every bar top poker bar in vegas or just certain ones- Wynn changed their policy a few years back to no more free VP drinks, but I can't think of any other properties that wont get you sloppy as long as you're playing.

And what sort of drink what be acceptable to order- Some places, only beer, wine and well drinks, other properties, top shelf. Some properties will offer you better booze at higher VP denominations, IE well at .25, but Goose/ Belvedere/ Ketel at $1 level.

** A side note that tipping your bartender well will almost always result in faster drink replenishment and occasionally an upgrade to premium offerings despite lower denomination play.

At the Cosmopoliton they don't have the best pay tables at their bars but they will comp their speciality cocktails which can be upwards or $14 to $18 a piece. So if you were going to pay for it, putting a $20 into the machine is almost a wash. Just be sure to ask them for a menu. There I've only been turned down on the top of top shelf. For bourbons I've been able to get Makers and Woodford Reserve. Downtown at The D....great pay table but not as fancy cocktails. Had to "downgrade" to Jack Daniels.

Be sure to tip $1 or $2 per drink. That'll make sure the bartender doesn't forget about you and maybe you build a rapport and get slightly higher liquors. For my 2nd or 3rd I usually tell them a drink I like and ask them to do their version or a non traditional twist.

I think it was Ceasers that limits you to 1 drink every 30 min. For a beer, you might be able to milk it, but for the mixed drinks, I don't think so. I'm sure one of the sites that was posted would let you know for sure if it was them.

And, if you play downtown, be warned that most of the places don't serve very strong drinks. I haven't tried it yet, but someone suggested asking for a "long shot" when getting one.

I've played at Caesars a lot and haven't had that experience. I usually play $1,2 or 5 VP and tip well so maybe they let me slide. My boys usually play .25 or $1, tip well and have no problem but maybe cause we are usually together.

I think it's aria that has this policy. Not Caesars.

Yeah Aria is one of the few that enforce this.

And although wanker751 linked it for me. I would like to reiterate it since i compiled a lot of it.

I knew it was at least one of the strip ones. Maybe if you at least tip the bartender well, they'll make the drinks stronger for ya. Then it won't seem so long between drinks.

I'm not sure how many vp bars aria has, but you could also just move around to different bars.
