I am sorry to hear this news. I always love going to the Vegas Chatter site for their insight and take on things. They will be missed dearly.

Sad. VC is a site I visit in my daily internet sweep.

    Sad, sad news.

New Orleans 7* retreat. Food, food, and more food . . . .
    Tentatively Tahoe or LV . . . .

I always stopped in there once a day. It was a good mix of news and opinion.

is there a real reason for the shutdown? Not profitable? too much time involved for the return?

Seemed like one of the better Vegas related sites for latest news, info, insights, etc

Very surprising that the leading Vegas news site would just walk away while on top. It really doesn't make sense, I don't see folks flocking to a non-Vegas site for Vegas info. VC will surely be missed. As they say, don't fall in love with ANYTHING in Vegas!

That totally sucks. I go there at least once a day and have found the articles to be informative and helpful.

So sorry Sam. I only discovered VC a few years ago and really regret not exploring LV related
sites much sooner. The daily emails & articles are a daily thing and I'm already feeling the
void. - Thanks to everyone @ VC for your passionate efforts !!

My understanding is Conde Naste (the parent of VC) is moving all of their subsidiaries' content (Hotel Chatter, etc) to their own page. I might be wrong about that, but I think this is a decision being made from CN, not VC.

Sounds like the name won't be retained though. Can't someone just take the name and pick up where they left off?

This doesn't make any sense. VegasChatter is the only other place I go for Vegas related information.

It's one of the two best sources of Vegas related information on the web... this being the other one.

I've had several clients' standalone/original editorial/webitorial identities subsumed by a larger entity, with the intent to maintain the content but unify the look and all. It hasn't always worked out for the better. Sadly.

I would think that someone was wise enough to lawfully protect the various intellectual properties, which also means acquisition is possible, depending on how they plan to use the old mark.

Always sad to hear of a great source of information going away. I hope they find a way to bring it back somehow.
