    My Trip Report

Vegas Trip Stayed @CP& PH... A trip DT and the Bachannal buffet (TR with pics)

    Sunday Nov 11th

We had a 7:30 PM flight out of Milwaukee. It is the latest flight out to Vegas we have ever taken. We
watched Vegas Strip episodes on TV as we were waiting for hours all ready to leave for the airport. Our
next door neighbors dropped us off. The Southwest boarded and took off a little early. We had only 45 people on our flight. I think anyone who wanted a row of 3 seats all to themselves could have it.
Flight landed about 30 minutes early. Cab line was a little long. Maybe 15 minutes to get in our cab.

We arrived at Caesars Palace. We asked the cab driver to take us to the Flamingo Road Augustus tower check-in entrance. Bell was right there and getting the cab door and our bags like Johnies on the spot. We walked in and went to the small Augustus/Octavius check-in. She had us on the 24th floor. I asked nice for higher as I knew it was a low floor. It was the 3rd floor level. We got a room on the 43rd floor and a full view of the Bellagio fountains.

The Augustus room was great. It had a jetted tub and separate walk-in shower. It was a very comfortable room. The walk to the casino was not too long and they have a Starbucks right off the elevators a few feet.

I actually acclimated to getting around the casino fairly easily. There is a bar and restaurant called Central just off the main lobby. It's open 24 hours. If you want to order take out for your room you need to go to the bar and order it.

It was a short wait for Bell to bring up our bags. I then changed and freshened up before we hit the casino floor. We played around on a few machines. I don't think either of us had any wins to speak of.

We were in our room by 1:30 AM. Hubby zonked out and I took a hot tub soak. Then I wrote some notes and got some stuff unpacked and organized. I think I hit the pillows about 4AM.

    Monday Nov 12th

I was up at 7:30 and just could not sleep any more. I took a shower and we were out of room by about 9:15 AM. We got our Starbucks coffees and played around the casino. I ended up down as usual for the day. But I did get some extented play on a Thundering Buffalo machine.

At about 1 PM we walked by the Bachannal buffet at CP. The line was long and winding. We decided to walk over to PH and eat at Spice Market. After our meal we played a little at PH and then walked over to Paris. We played there about an hour. After that we walked back to CP and played for awhile. We were in the room about 7:30 PM

About 9PM I decided I was hungry again. Hubby was not. He was tired and "assuming the position". That's what he calls laying in bed and vegging out with the TV until he falls asleep. He told me to order room service. I looked over the menu. I guess I am a true midwesterner. I just couldn't order that super expensive food when I knew there was a place just downstairs. Way cheaper and probably faster than room service.

So I went down to Central and ordered a salad, cheeseburger and fries to go. The bill came to $33.51 plus a tip. I then stopped at Starbucks and got a water and decaf coffee. And a donut. :) Another $12. Up to the room and shared the burger and fries with DH. I ate as much of the salad as I could. There was alot of it. Too bad the little fridge was all filled with junk for sale. At least 1/2 that salad went to waste. I ate about 1/3 of the donut and put the rest away for the next day.

    Tuesday Nov 13th

I was up at 10 AM. DH went down for coffees while we got ready. We were out of the room by 12:30. We played around CP casino for a few hours. We then decided to walk over to Bellagio. We cruised the conservatory and played around the casino. We got hungry and decided to eat at the Bellagio buffet for dinner. $69.16 with tax for two. The dinner was very good. I would go back again. We ate there for dinner a few trips ago and I was not too impressed. This time it was very good and seemed to have a better variety and better fresh quality in the selections I ate. Our server was a male and very attentive and proficient.

After we ate DH and I decided to hop the tram and go check out Aria casino. Aria didn't have a good selection of machines we like and I know I lost a fast $20 bill there. We soon headed back through Bellagio and back to CP.

DH and I played around CP casino for awhile. We ended up back in our room at around 11 PM. But not before DH won on a China Shores game in CP casino. :) He got over 240 free bonus games and ended with this nice result.

We did stop off at Starbucks on our way up to the room and got two coffees. Decaf for me. DH should have gotten decaf. After his nice win and the coffee he was wakeful through the night. I took a hot tub soak and watched a bunch of fountain shows out the big window. I tried taking pics but the window caused them to be all blurry and cloudy. :( I also started to pack up to check out next morning.

    Wednesday Nov 14th

We got up and checked out by 11 AM. We went down to get a taxi outside of the main lobby. We get over to PH and go in to the lobby. Into the Platinum/Diamond check-in line. Just one ahead of us I think. Our room is not ready. Understandable. We are very early. I am hoping to score a resort vista. Our host has requested a resort room for us. We have always stayed in a Hip room with a great view most every time. I don't like the idea of carpet in the bathroom. So he says he has a vista ready now if we want it. I say YES! No wait and no carpeted bathroom is perfect. DH gives him the $20 tip. Which was not showing then so it wasn't a "bribe". He gives us our keys. Room 780. OY. 7th floor. What will we see out our vista view? He says it's a view of the strip side. Okaaaaaaay. We will see. :)

This room is big but the lay out is "dumb". It feels so disjointed to me. It takes a good 24 hours to get my bearings in this room. But it does have some nice features. Big wall of windows to see out of. :lol It has a huge deep tub (without jets) to soak in. And a huge TV over the tub to watch. The window covering over the tub is a semi shear Roman blind. LOL Guess who gets in and out of the tub in the dark? :)ME!

On several of the weekdays we had workers outside our windows pounding and using machinery. DH says this is the room they stick people in making them think they are getting a great upgrade. He says from now on he will go look at the room first before he hands over a $20 as a tip. We did that at CP. After we saw the room on the 43rd floor and the view, he went back down and tipped the girl.

We just hung out at Planet Hollywood all day and played around the casino. We walked outside a few times for fresh air and to people watch. They still have the timeshare hawkers outside. We were approached several times. This guy on the 2nd day comes up and says " I see my buddies are still here". DH says, "Still not interested". Guy keeps talking. I then say. " You are wasting your time with us. There is NO way we will agree to go on a "free" 3 or 6 hour tour." He says he'll have us in and out in an hour. I just smile and shake my head no. He leaves and does not approach us again. :)

We weren't there on the casino floor too long when our host came by. She found me first playing on a Buffalos machine. We gabbed and made small talk. Hugged and I told her we would catch up with her either before the crazy weekend started or on Monday. She is usually off on Mondays but would be there then. She found DH a few rows over and I guess they had a nice chat too. She told me if our cards are in the machines and she is checked in for work our location goes right to her phone. Pretty cool.

Later we ate an early dinner at the Spice Market buffet. We used some of my reward credits to pay for it. Dinner buffet is $57.98 for two. That is without tax. It's nice to save the tax when one uses RCs. That computes to $28.99 PP before tax. Bellagio dinner buffet is $31.99 PP before tax. Spice Market lunch buffet is $19.99 PP before tax. Oh...and the Spice Market buffet does not close and tear down anymore between meal hours. I think the dinner hours start at 3:00 or maybe 3:30.

We are up in the room early again. About 7:30 PM. I fill the tub and soak in it while watching SURVIVOR. DH is in the bedroom assuming the position watching SURVIVOR. I am wakeful tonight and still wide eyed and finally get up after a bit of sleep at 4 or 5 AM. I took a barely warm shower, got dressed and went down to the casino while DH was still sleeping. He woke a little as I was going out the door. I told him to call me if he got up and I would bring him a coffee. I played my Buffalos machine and got this nice little win. After some playing around I headed back up to the room nicely cashed out ahead from when I went down. DH is just getting up as I get back to the room. So I went back down and got him a coffee at Coffee Bean out in the mall. Starbucks and Earl's both had too long of lines. One person ahead of me at the Coffee Bean. There is also a Starbucks down in the lobby area that is sometimes not too crowded.

    Thursday Nov 15th

Today the plan is to get together with friends from Texas and go Downtown. We hang around PH and play. DH and I decide to eat breakfast at Planet Dailies. It was a good breakfast. I know better than to call or text my GF too early. :) We originally talked about meeting up around 2 PM. She calls and says they got a CP limo comped to take us DT. Nice! I say when do you want us to walk over and meet you? She says the driver will pick us up at PH. Nicer yet. :) I tell her to call me when they get in the limo and DH and I will be waiting outside the lobby doors. We get dropped off at the Golden Nugget. We all four want to go in and get player cards. DH and I were signed up years ago. Maybe 2 or 3 owners ago. We are still in their system so we don't get any new sign-up freebies. Our friends from Texas get some FSP for theirs. Was it $5 each? It seems they could have randomly gotten more?

We played around GN casino. I end up finding a Mystical Unicorns machine. I really like those machines. Like most they are either eating away at my $$$ or they can be volatile and pay really good. Texas friends find us and say they want to walk down to the D. We tell them go on along and we will catch up to them in a bit. Which we do. None of us are very impressed with the casino. We do not get players cards here. I think it was here I did spy a Midnight Eclipse game and HAD to put a bill into it and play. I'm pretty sure it took my $$$ pretty fast.

After that we four walked over to Plaza. We all four got players cards there. DH and I had some good play action and I know I had a lot of fun playing a Thundering Buffalos there. The casino is pretty nice too. DH said he liked the place enough to stay there in March. Depending on any offers we might get. We also got over to MSS and looked around.

At some point we were all getting hungry and needed to eat. We decided to go into Micky D's at the D and order food to take out. The plan was to sit at some machines while we ate and slow play. Our friends got theirs before us. They went and found some machines. DH and I got ours and looked around. Couldn't see where they were so we went back and sat at a table and ate. After eating we did find those two at a few dollar machines. GF's hubby had a BIG bucket of dollar tokens. LOL at finding coin droppers. I thought the D was all modern now. Guess not.

We soon caught a cab back to the strip. We had the cab drop us back at CP where friends were staying. We got into the casino and GF wanted a drink. Like right away. :) So she went up to the casino bar and got drinks for herself, her hubby and DH. I didn't want anything. I go to the ladies room often enough as it is. LOL We walked through the high limit room and checked it out. Then we sat at a bank of machines and talked awhile. Awhile later DH and I decided to let GF and her DH get their gamble on and we walked back to PH. We played in the casino and then went up to our room about 10 PM. I slept like a log tonight. DH did too.

    Friday Nov 16th

We are up and out of the room by 10 AM. We gambled at PH til around noon. We then decided to walk over to Ballys and play some slots. After we got bored at Ballys we decided to walk over to Bellagio. We were planning to meet Texan friends to have drinks at Hyde. I found a Midnight Eclipse machine to play at Bellagio. I love this game also. It doesn't always love me though. Like most of any slot game out there. I texted GF about 4:15 to let her know we were already at Bellagio playing in the casino. She was not having a good day. They went to check into Bellagio and after 5 hours they were still having problems. They had just gotten into a room and she decided she was just going to stay in and soak in the tub and relax.

I did cash out $20 ahead on the Midnight Eclipse and cashed out even on a Tiki Torch there. After getting some fun play time in. :)

DH and I left Bellagio after awhile and walked over to Cosmopolitan. First machine I spy is a Mystical Unicorns. :) I have to stick a twenty in it. DH decides to just sit and watch me play. He left his players card for Cosmo back at the room. A CW does come by within the first few minutes and offers drinks. That was nice. Well.....I get into a bonus game and end up cashing out $100. I was up higher. Maybe $120 or more. But I played it back down to the hundred and decided not to push my luck on it any further. I tried a few more machines at Cosmo and lose a few $$. Not much...just a few. We then head across the street back to PH. This is around 7 PM.

We get back and play around PH casino. LOST! We go over to ABC store and get some snacks to take back to our room around 8PM. This has still been a losing day for us both. Time to have another early night and wallow with junk food and TV. I take another hot tub soak and watch a little CNN while DH watches...I think Criminal Minds. YUK...that show gets me too upset. :( It is a very good show. It just gets too gruesome and intense for me.

    Saturday Nov 17th

This is the day we will meet up at CP Gallery (Galleria?) lounge with three other couples.

We are up at 9:30 and leave the room by about 12:30 PM. DH and I played around in the PH casino until about 2:30 PM. We then walked over to CP. We got to the Gallery lounge. He decided to go scope out a few slots. I stood there a few minutes then decide to go in and ask about getting seating set up for 8 people. It was 10 minutes before 3:00. The guy said he could not reserve but we should have no problem getting a few tables and chairs together at 3 when the others arrived. Texan friends arrived. We decided to go in and start rearranging the furniture. We got a nice corner spot. Soon Virginia friends arrived and then our New Jersey friends. We ordered drinks. TX GF and I ordered frozen strawberry Margarhettas. The tiny little CW came back with two white ones. She said they were out of the salts for the strawberry. We both decided we did not like or want those. She left them there complimentary for whomever wanted them. A little while longer and voila...our strawberry Marggies arrived. I later had a rum and coke. Wow that was strong....for me. Loved the little carrafes they served on the side too with a few of the drinks. Needless to say I got a little tipsy. I really had to concentrate while walking to the ladies room. LOL I'm not much of a drinker, I guess.

We had a great two and a half hours of talking and laughing. At around 5:30, 6 of us went over to eat the bachannal buffet at CP. The other two couples are diamond so we were all able to get in the short line. It was still a good 20 minute wait to get seated. There were a few groups waiting ahead of us. The food was excellant.

After we ate DH and I walked back to PH via Bellagio. I stopped to play Midnight Eclipse and lost $20. :(

Tomorrow is our last full day in Vegas. I'm having such a good time. I could easily stay another week. I wouldn't have much left to play machines another week. But it would be nice anyways. :)

    Sunday Nov 18th

Today we need to stay close to home to check in for our flight at 5:45 PM. I would like to walk up to Palazzo and Wynn. DH is not in the mood to walk that far. His hip is bothering him. So we hang around PH. Later I would like to walk over to Bellagio. I have about $25 in pointplay I could use on that Midnight Eclipse game. :) TX GF calls or texts at some point and asks if we want to go to Hyde for those drinks today. I tell her that would be cool. But not til after we do our check in. I tell her we will head over and be there about 6 or 6:15. I go to the concierge at just before 5:45. They have two guys working. Both concierges are helping other people. It's about 5:50 and I get up there and ask the one guy to do the check in and print the boarding passes. He says it's a $5 charge. I tell him they did not charge me last May at Paris. He says it's free for Diamond......he hesitates and starts to say Diamond and Platinum. I immediately tell him "We are Platinum" and shove DH's player card towards him. DH is standing there a bit behind me. Concierge guy kind of makes a little face and does as I ask without a charge. :) Takes him at the most 3 minutes. I thank him and off we go to meet our friends from Texas. Boarding seats B4 and B5. :)s x 10

We find Hyde and friends are soon there. We go in and get a great seating area. This is a really nice place. GF gets her Burning Mango(s) she has been craving. :)DH orders himself a beer. GFs hubby has Grey Goose and something. I order the special hydrogen drink they mix tableside. That was cool. It was an eggnog special. I can't remember all what was in there. It was really yummy. It tasted more like a frozen dessert. Another -ooo sized little waitress. She was really cute and friendly.

After Hyde it wasn't too long that DH and I decided to head back to PH. New Jersey GF calls me as we are walking back. She then texts awhile later that she and hubby were at PH. I told her DH and I were playing on the Jolly Rogers slots and about where they were located. She soon found us. We four sat and talked awhile. After DH finished playing "his" Jolly Rogers NJ GF decided to have a go at it. I was still doing okay on "my" Jolly Rogers. GFs hubby had gone off to play some Roulette. Then GF and I played a few other machines. We lost sight of each other for awhile then met up again. DH was ready to head upstairs and I wasn't. I told him I would go to ABC and get some sweet and salty snacks for him when I came up. GF and I walked around and played some slots here and there. At about 11:30 PM I was ready to call it a night too. I went over to ABC and got DH's goodies and headed up for the night myself. It was so nice to be able to spend some more time with my friend from NJ too. :)

    Monday Nov 19th

This is check out and go home day. Mixed feelings here for me. Hubby is tired and ready to get home. We awake about 8:30 AM. We have a 3PM late check out. I confirmed it with our host on the first day when we talked. Usually I call her the night before we leave. Even though she has always said we can always have a late check-out. I still like to confirm and firm the exact hour we have agreed about.

After I get showered and ready for the day I finish up packing everything. DH has had his packed for at least an hour before me. It took him most of 10 minutes I think. LOL We are about ready to leave the room. I call our host to see if we can stop by or if she wants to catch us on the floor. I tell her we have a thank you gift we want to give her. She says she is in the Diamond check-in for about the next 45 minutes so come there. We walk in and go over to her desk. We talk for a bit. We hug and let her get back to her day.

We leave the area and go into the casino to slap some buttons as a last stand attempt to go home with a good win or two. LOL After awhile DH says let's go eat. He and I had both lost a few $$ with no wins and not much play action. I really was not hungry a bit. He wanted Spice Market. Charged it to our room. I did my best to eat something. We would normally wait and eat at the airport.

We leave for the airport shortly after 3 PM. Get there and check our bags. Head up to C gates. Our flight is listed as on time. Man... was it crowded with lots of people traveling on the SW flights. Security was a short wait to get through. No line whatsoever. But people everywhere waiting to fly out.

Our flight seemed to be 100% full. Somehow DH and I managed to have no one take our middle seat. Nice score going home. We land on time or a few minutes early. I even snoozed on the flight home. Our younger son was there to pick us up and take us home.

Great flights this trip. A really fun week meeting up with some of my good friends. Nothing much as far as winning at the slots. Vegas didn't get all our $$$ we took to spend. So that is a good thing.

    Until March! March! March!!![IMG]

Great read. Loved the pics, they make trip reports so much more interesting. Know what you mean when you said you could stay another week. When I feel that way, I normally way up on my gambling budget lol.

Thanks for your interesting report, especially the 'food porn' from Caesars new buffet (don't know how to spell it!).
We stayed in a Vista room once at PH also. Very wierd floorplan, I agree, but I did enjoy the space.
