    My Trip Report

Less than 24 hours for the big trip! - Woo Hoo!

This vacation will be our 6th trip to sin city and it will be honeymoon #19 (our anniversary is on Monday the 31st). We went to Vegas for our 10th anniversary (my first trip there).... and 9 months later had our beautiful (now 8 year old) daughter - wow time flies! She's the only kid we have. We had been trying to have a kid for the past couple of years prior to that trip - although we lost money, we apparently left big winners! :)

We'll be departing from Dallas Love Field and arrive in Vegas about 2.5 hours later. Booked a convertible through Alamo. I did the online check-in. The website said I can go to the garage and pick out our car... Can you really pick out the car you want??

Since it's customary to post a pic of the bankroll.... here ya' go!

    Just kiddin'

I know there are a few high rollers here, but for a the average person, anyone know what the common BR is for a trip? Of course, I would imagine the average amount would be higher for the folks on this site. Just out of curiosity, how much do y'all usually take when you hit Vegas?

We'll be there for 6 nights in what actually turned out be musical resorts.... Had a room booked for 5 nights at PH, then switched over to Paris. Decided to add an extra day and couldn't get the same room for the extra night so switched over to TI. Treasure Island did a heck of a job hiding the resort fee. I called and they said it was mandatory... so with the resort fee added to the price, it wasn't a good enough value and we ended back at Bally's... where we stayed last time. I almost said "screw it" and booked Caesars, but just couldn't bring myself to spend more than twice the cash for a room that we're barely going to be in. Don't mind spending the cash, but I'm more of a "bang for your buck" kind of guy. With us not being in the room often enough... figure it wasn't worth it. Now, if were going to only hang around the resort, I would've booked it.

It's been 3.5 years since we've been there, so I guess that's why we had no comps this time around... bummer

We stayed at Bally's last time and had a blast. For some reason, we just liked the vibe of the casino. Maybe we got extra fun dealers last time or something.

Some things we're going to do:

    1) Hit Mt. Charleston for Breakfast
    2) Gamble
    3) Drive through Valley of Fire and take the scenic route back
    4) Gamble
    5) Mob Museum
    6) Downtown gambling
    7) We may go to that pawn shop that's on the history channel
    8) Gamble some more
    9) Try to talk my wife into going to Pahrump - ain't going to happen
    10) Win some money
    11) Check out some investment real estate and brokerages - it would be nice if I could at least write off a portion of the trip
    12) Give back the money we won
    13) Maybe one of those nighttime helicopter rides over Vegas
    14) Win more cash
    15) Leave with some of the casino's money
    16) Lose that money at the airport slots :)

Actually, it's funny... every trip we've been on, I've always won at least $100 playing at the airport slots - now that I said it out loud.

Anyway, hope to post photos of the trip and pics of big wins!

Here's a few photos from our previous trips:

My husband And I try to take about $1000 a piece. That includes our food, taxi, and etc. so if we are not winning some it makes for a smaller bank roll. This last trip was good for me and I came back with the original bank roll. And I spent a lot on food, taxis, and other things.

    Good luck. Make Texas proud

My husband and I each have about $300 per day for gambling - we have another daily budget for other stuff and that is dependent on what plans we made - ie shows special dinners etc. This last trip we both came back with some of our bankroll - so that is a win!! Good luck and have fun. We stayed at Bally's and really enjoyed it. The bar near Nosh has the best bartenders and in general everyone was super friendly at Bally's. If you see this before you go try to get the Jubilee Tower and the 65th floor or above - your elevator service is very fast for these floors. Other hint - don't eat breakfast at Buca's - not good and bad service for us and the other couple that we went with at two separate times. Walk over to Ellis Island for their steak and egg special 6.99 with players card -NY Strip. Very good and an easy walk from Bally's. Go through the downstairs shopping area and exit to the road at the end of that mall - go right on Flamingo cross over Koval - turn right on Koval and Ellis Island is right there. They also have other breakfasts special for 3.99 and up.

I walk out on my back patio this morning and see this:

    Bummer......

I didn't do the early bird check-in for Southwest, so I had to set an alarm on my phone to remind me to check-in online. Got boarding "Group A" - Score!

Wife and I will be heading from SATX to Vegas Sept 16... hopefully you win but leave some for us!!

As far as bankroll... it varies. We used to take around 1500 for our trip and mostly gamble. We usually ended up with some left over. Last trip we bumped our BR to 2500 but planned other things besides gambling and used thay towards it. Ended up coming back with more than we went with. This trip I plan on taking 3000. We will be going to a convention for my olympia and also the iheartradio show so hopefully we get some gambling in. To me.. my bankroll for 2 people on a 4 night trip is low but due to my winning last week I had a FP offer of 800$ so that should help. Doubt I'll gamble as much as I did last trip.

We Texans really love Vegas. Sorry about the safe, that's kind of a pain. I hope you guys have fun!

EDIT: Regarding bankroll, I try to keep loss under $200 a day. If I'm up, I can do whatever I want with the house money.

EDIT EDIT: My wife usually leaves the airport up about $100 off the slots, too. They mercilessly steal my money so I usually leave them alone.

I'm glad to see there are so many other Texans here :)

After we checked in, got a quick bite to eat...

    20150830_230716.jpg

So far, we're up, not by much...

Won $200 in the first 5 minutes on a slot machine - Woo Hoo!!

    20150830_232843.jpg

Went throught that win and then some... Wife kept winning, so up $180 total so far

Like the view they gave us.... safe is broken, so we'll be switching to another room, but they assured us it we would have the same view... I"m a sucker for montains

    20150831_063858_004.jpg

Is there a way to rotate the top two photos so they're displaying correctly?

Jumping in the shower and heading off to Mt. Charleston for breakfast, then back to do some more gambling :)

Thanks, happy anniversary to y'all too! Keep on winning, and sharing pics. Sorry, not sure how to rotate them, or even if you can once they are posted.
