    My Trip Report

Sorry I haven't been around lately folks. I used to check in at work, and for some reason it is blocked as "gambling" now?

Anyways. I'm going to Vegas with a girlfriend for the first time. It will be my 7th, and her 4th or 5th. This is for her birthday.

We're leaving this coming Wednesday night at 6:05 from Baltimore Washington Airport. Stopping at Duclaw (local brewery) at the airport to get grub and some IPAs, or DIPAs.

We'll be landing in Vegas around 8:30. Taking the shuttle to the PH. I always liked gambling here and I got a good deal at the joint. We'll check in, pick up booze from ABC, and get some grub at Earl of Sandwich.

    Thurs:
Plan on getting up and heading to breakfast at either HHAGG or The Peppermill. Prob will hit up the North strip. Wynn for a drink, Riviera and Circus Circus if I'm feeling cheap. Maybe lunch at Lagasse's Stadium for a quick snack.

At night I'll have her bday surprise. She's a big "foodie" and she loves Bobby Flay, so I'm going to take her to MESA grill at Caesars for dinner. I want to take her to a nice lounge/bar afterward. Shes tall and beautiful so I wouldn't expect us having a hard time getting in anywhere, but where would you think we should go? I was thinking either Voodoo, the Strat bar, or MIX. I'd like to get the best bang (drinks) for the buck, but I"d like it to be a special place. I'm open to suggestions on this. Gracias in advance.

Friday: We'll hit up the South Strip. Need to get to THE Hotel to have a drink at THE Bar, I like that they have Duvel there, so I have one of them. Hit the south strip casinos.

We'lll get lunch somewhere around there, I'm leaning toward that Devil's Cantina or w.e it's called or maybe T&T at Luxor. I'd like Mexican or Indian honestly.

We have a dinner/show at PH at 7:30 to see Tony and Tina's Wedding. My gf wanted to see that. It's her birthday, and I got the tickets, on the cheap, lol. I'm not expecting a whole lot.

Saturday: I'd like to hit up the middle strip. Might do the PH Buffet for Brunch/Lunch. I'd like to catch up for some hotels we missed.

This day is purposefully left open. We're seeing the 7:30 show of Zumanity at NYNY. We'll get dinner before that or maybe after that.

Sunday: We have a 2pm flight, I like getting back to the airport early. I'd like to do a little gambling in the morning. We'll get back to Baltimore at 10:30 pm

Also incase you guys remember my AirTran fiasco and night IN the ATL airport last time. I'm only flying direct and Southwest from now on :)

It will be interesting to see what I get accomplished from this. I also want one of those guitar drinks from Rockhouse at IP. Any other suggestions I missed out on?

Until I pack, I'm all ready and just listening to Dean, Frank, and Sammy from 1963 at the Sands. Great vegas soundtrack.

Sounds like a good plan. Take cloths for both warm and cool weather. It's been mild this month, even broke a record BUT my wife (ex now) and I went in Jan one year, it had been warm (upper 60s)up to when we left. Upon arrival it was only 52 with high winds making it feel 30s, even got down to 19 at night. I followed the weather and packed for semiwarm temps only to freeze.

The vegasmessageboard.com URL is blocked at my work too but the travel2vegas.com URL works fine. The only pain is that logging on to travel2vegas forwards you directly to vegasmessageboard but if you go back in your history to travel2vegas.com you'll be logged in.

I went with my wife to see Tony & Tina's wedding. I wasn't expecting much either, but we had a great time. We had the only hot bridesmaid at our table and she pulled me out on the dance floor to dance and got me involved in some of the ongoing family drama.

If you're going to THEhotel on Friday, don't do MIX on Thursday.

When you do Tony N Tina, sell yourself out. If you get pulled out of your chair, go 100% engaged in the show. You will have a better time laughing at your silliness than being embarrassed with yourself. You're in Vegas and nobody knows you. You've got nothing to lose! And besides, your girlfriend will love you even more for going all out for her birthday. And buy the souvenir picture for her. Maybe one of the Vegas 2011 magnet picture frames for it for her refrigerator.

It's gonna be a birthday to remember. Congratulations to her!
