Thanks for the update - this will be a serious cash cow for MGM. What's the over/under on how long it will be before they start raising these rates?

As a Vegas veteran, I am sorry to hear this. Now I'll be saying "Back in the old days, they had free valet parking which brought a lot of people in to casinos". Of course I also remember the days when a hotel guest who valeted could call the valet desk from their room, give them your ticket number and your car would be waiting for you when you arrived. Wow, I really am getting old.

What is the over/under on when Caesars will start charging?

Yes, in the year 2030 we will be saying "back in the old days, we had real gambling with 6:5 blackjack, not even money. We even had 5x odds at the craps tables. You could stick $100 in a slot machine and play for a whole 15 minutes at full coin. Drinks had real booze in them, and we weren't limited to one per hour. We could actually walk down the strip with a cocktail in our hand. Resort fees were cheaper than the room rate. I really miss those porn slappers".

So they came to their senses on Circus Circus, huh?

Maybe they should try paying us $10 a day to park there.

As many of you know, Nevada residents have free in and out privileges at the MGM properties. This privilege is for self - park only, not valet.

You simply scan the bar code of your NV Driver's License in the appropriate spot on the ticket dispensing machine, and the gate opens immediately.

    Interestingly, the fine print says:

"Self-parking up to 24 hours is complimentary* for guests with a valid Nevada driver's license until 12/29/2016."

I recently spent 3 nights at the Luxor, and never moved my car from check in to check out. Leaving, I scanned my license and the gate opened with no problem.

I would tip for service, like I did before. Just because I am charged instead of it being free wouldn't stop me from paying $0-$5, depending on how long I wait and how pleasant the valet was..

    Hi, dmr.
    You're 100% correct.
As a local, I have no problem with them having that info if it helps them develop some marketing aimed at us.
Right now, with Red Rock, Southpoint, Orleans, etc, the only time I go to the Strip is when friends or family are town... like my recent 3 night stay.

Even though I live here, I'll stay occasionally at hotels if the deal makes sense. Decent prices at The Plaza, Gold Coast, etc. are worth a night of fun with no worries about driving home. From where I live, it's a $30 cab ride each way to the Strip, so any hotel room that nets out under $60 is a no-brainer.

I know the MGM properties won't come close to that, but there are other things they could do to attract my attention.

    Cheers,
    cmasia

I skimmed one of the TR's in the forum and saw that the person had issues being charged multiple times with the 24 hour stuff and had to deal with each hotel to make sure they got refunded. We are staying at Mandalay 2 of the 3 nights we are in town. All of our MLife hotel activity will be while we are registered hotel guests there. I'm guessing this means that as long as we have the proof of parking there and being guests there we should be allowed to self park OR valet at any other property during this time frame and not have to pay again?

If you stay at MGM and pay to park - I saw you got in/out privileges but didn't know if could then drive to another Mgm property and not have to pay again. Does anyone know? Thanks!

I moved your question to this thread. The current setup for MGM Resorts parking is in the first post.

Just wondering if anyone with a Mlife credit card has parked at a property and knows how paying the bill works? having the Mlife card means you get free parking but do you swipe the card into the parking machine or does the hotel give you a parking voucher if you ask for one if you are a card holder? Thanks for any insight.

Thanks for the post- very useful. My free room at Aria is now up to nearly fifty bucks. Beats a fifty-buck motel, but if MyVegas hadn't comped the room I wouldn't go to the Strip at all.

Isn't the free parking because you are given mlife pearl status? You should be able to just use your pearl mlife card to get in and out of the garage.
