Anywhere I look right now, Travelzoo, coupons, promos, most everything expires by the end of 2014. We want to get the best deal for our money (as I'm sure we all do), so where is the best place to look for promos and specials. We haven't booked hotel yet, just flight, as I think prices will go down maybe after the holidays?

Are you locked in to a certain week? I noticed that the weekend of Valentine's day was more expensive than the rest of the month.

Otherwise, though, Agoda has been having some "Friday 1/2 off" sales lately. Not a lot of big hotels in the deals, but some decent smaller places. http://www.agoda.com/hpfdeals

I'll be there between Feb 13th or 14th through the 22nd.

have you tried looking on smartervegas.com? as for hotels, my strategy (since i never get comps) is to book as soon as i see a deal i think is good. this has sometimes been 6 months in advance or more. but make sure the booking is fully refundable. some deal sites have limits on what's refundable. i think for one trip, i had 5 hotels booked. i just kept booking and canceling the reservations when something better came along.

as for other types of promos/deals, it's hard to give a definitive answer for this. usually 2-3 months before the trip is a good time to look since most groupons or travelzoo deals i see expire in roughly 90 days from date of purchase. i have found good deals on groupon, travelzoo, and Restaurant.com. but i haven't been to vegas in 2 years :)eek:), so i am not sure of new deal sites.

    good luck!

Anyone know of big events happening from Feb. 19 and on? Looking at rates for a few nights that time of year, all the hotels seem to be fairly expensive.

Nothing big convention wise that I saw on an event calendar.

We book our room usually at least 6-8 months in advance as soon as a date is locked in. Then wait for good airline fares. Since we go 2x a year we always have a trip in the works. Just saw that you have your room....I was going to ask if you have a rating or history with a certain casino/hotel....you can book a year ahead that way very easily. In the past, I have seen some good specials after the holiday for Jan / Feb on SW. Good luck!!
