Ok, being a single guy, I've always been one who wonders why parents bring their kids to vegas.... but anyway, we're having a family reunion in vegas - since my parents are semi-retired and mom enjoys slots. I have two siblings and they're both married with kids. I still don't like the idea of bringing kids to vegas but since they will be bringing them along, what can we do in vegas that would be enjoyable for the kids (age range from 8-15) this december? We have rooms booked at Paris and Caesar's but will also have transportation to drive around.

We're taking our son (18) in December here's our list of possibilities,
    Pinball Hall of Fame
    Atomic Testing Museum
    Red Rock Canyon
    Valley of Fire (highly recommend)
Hoover Dam, including the train tunnels, http://www.nps.gov/lake/planyourvisit/hikerr.htm
    Conservatory at Bellagio, and fountains
Car Museum at the Linq (is it still there?)
Fremont Street, day and night, including container park
    Mob Museum

Not on our list but you might consider,
    Bowling at Gold Coast
    Rides at Circus Circus
Christmas Trip. Sam's Town & MSS

To my knowledge the car museum is still there. I was pleasantly surprised and under planned the amount of time to be spent there.

And don't forget to print your free admission coupons:

I really liked hoover dam and the atomic testing museum as well, but I'm a science dork. Groupons are common for the atomic testing museum.

Also "The Fun Dungeon" at Excalibur is a decent arcade. I also was briefly amused with the circus circus midway. I sorta felt bad for the performers though.
