Can't remember if it was NYNY or Monte Carlo (vodka) but I got a massage in the pit for like an hour my friends (and credit card statement) tell me. I was playing 3 card poker or something, and I let nice and loose on the morning!

I've resorted to wearing ear buds when walking the strip without any music playing, no matter who I'm walking with. CD guys? Timeshare hawkers? If I can't hear you, I can on ore you

Do you really get it that much tho'? I got a timeshare hawker once my last trip (front of Cosmo). Same for CD hawker (on the bridge from Cosmo to PH).

I just walk right by. Disinterested but I don't see a lot of them.

I get it constantly, but its funny you mention Cosmo and PHo. It's always right there, and probably ,ore frequently for me since I always stay at one of the two.

It's pretty much every time I walk outside though

I'm happily surprised to hear that you get unlimited filet mignon at those Brazilian grills in Vegas?! I ones went to one in Barcelona and was very disappointed, because they first came around (round after round) with the cheap stuff and only at the end (when everyone was stuffed already) they came with the filet mignon and you only got a little piece of that. I felt so cheated! :grrr:

Will check in the appropriate forum thread (Restaurants & Buffets) what the experience is of others...

Thanks for the tip, Busyman!!

Well my post that I either forgot to submit or blanked in some way cited the churrascarias in my area (Washington DC area) like Chima and Fogo De Chao. We have 2, one in DC and one in Baltimore (where I'll be Saturday). Those two are top-notch and put Pampas to shame.

My main point is that I find celebrity chef restaurants a complete waste along with high-end steakhouses. Why would I even go to Ruth's Chris when I can go to Fogo or Chima (which has unlimited swordfish) and a nice salad bar?

That's where my disinterest comes in.

ONE filet mignon along with sides will run you about $50 in a "fine dining" spot. I'm sure the food is good but no thanks.

I really hate to see the McDonald arches ... really on the strip ? find somewhere else
las vegas has gotten really filthy ...on the strip ....just my opinion
the shitty payouts on slots used to be you could play awhile , but now they just suck your money and give bad returns .40 bet =.8 win
the high prices .. yeah its vegas but really does the food / drink need to cost 2 or 3 times the national average ?
taxicabs ... always out to fuck somebody ,,, long haul ,,,going slow ...whatever ....

High end shops at the megajoints don't interest me one bit. If I wanted to shop, I'd go to the mall at home.

    Let's see here ...

    Velvet rope clubs {yawn!}
    Hookers (obviously)
Timeshares and the dweebs who sell them!
Chain restaurants (even though I do grudgingly admit to enjoying downtown Denny's.)
Some high-end celebrity chef restaurants (almost like chains now).
Newer "penny" slots that have high minimums per spin! :( :( :(
    Panhandlers (including costume characters)
Pornslappers (they leave me alone but the litter is nasty!)
    Resort fees!
    Long lines

I'll prolly think of more right when I hit post.

Why do people even mention golf?

I agree with most of the things mentioned here but why golf? Ken must be hanging out on the strip with his new driver annoying people or something because it's not really a big deal like in Myrtle Beach or Scottsdale.
We should mention bowling, too noisey and ping pong ,but not beer pong.

    Disinterest vs dislike

Isn't that the difference between a disinterest and a dislike? I don't have any interest in playing golf but at the same time I don't dislike it because it doesn't have an impact on me.

Personally I have no interest in retail shopping or ultra high end restaurants.

A play on words ,but your right.

My one purpose was to bust Ken,our resident golf expert. Theres a lot of things out there like bowling for example that I have no interest in and having tried it ,I dislike. I agree with you on the shopping and high end restaurants and I will say ,I have a total dislike for anybody who bothers me on the street or runs a tourist trap.

Actually a number of disinterests that others posted don't bother me much.

Pornslappers and timeshare people (panhandlers too) - I just walk on by, like they aren't there.

strip clubs - he he, not a problem for me, lol.

restaurants and celebrity restaurants - I usually visit vegas as a single so I just pass them by.

malls and outlet malls - not a problem if you don't go in or drive to the mall.

    Things that really bother me:

Fremont st. east clubs, I liked staying at the El Cortez but now I have to navigate around the crowd at night getting to/from the EC. Plus I hate the loud noise at night, can hear the music from many rooms at the EC till the wee hours of the morning.

Slotzilla - ditto as above, such a pain to navigate around that structure.

Loud music at the D. While I don't mind the party pit atmosphere I have to remember to bring earplugs to dampen the loud music. :Þ

Resort fees - no explanation needed, wish they would just list the total price including all taxes and fees.

Long lines and crowds, for that matter tourists that walk abreast along a sidewalk, stop right after getting off the escalator or elevator or going through doors.

Sorry, I'm in my 50's so this "young" theme that they are pushing lately isn't my style, hard to ignore the above when walking around to getting to your hotel.

hmmm, actually many of these are more dislikes than disinterests. Guess I could be disinterested in the items that I mentioned don't bother me but I have no problem ignoring those items.

    (1) My Vegas--I have no interest in playing a video game about Vegas, even if it will eventually provide me with valuable vegas comps. I have neither the time nor the interest. However, I think I am in the minority, as there is an entire section on VMB devoted to this game.

    (2) The slushly drinks that are so big they come with a strap--I actually enjoy a Fat Tuesday drink from time to time (they make my dry throat feel incredible, and they taste great). However, I have no interest in walking around with a 200 oz. drink with a strap around my neck. Those people look ridiculous IMO.

    (3) Taking pictures in front of the "Welcome to Vegas" sign.
