What is going on? My favorite places for King Crab Legs were the Bellagio and Wynn buffets. Sure they have something resembling Alaskan King Crab, but only half the size now. It has been like this for a few years, was there bad years for King Crab, or are they not getting the top of the crop anymore?
It wasn't stone crab, or something else either. I love these things, and always get my 5lb worth, so anyone know where you can get still get them massive legs? I loved the reaction and looks I used to get when walking by other people with these things hanging off my plate like a set of 737 wings.

Actually the quota for red crab was cut in half this year, so I wonder if they've been affected. If you want really good, fresh king crab, go to Vegas towards the end of October. The season starts on the 15th.

I don't know if you've ever had stone crabs but I actually like them better than king crab. That season starts the same time. Check out Joe's Seafood in the Forum Shops. You won't be disappointed.
