Yet another "which hotel/room" thread

I've got reservations in late August for a Deluxe Suite @ Vdara, and a Augustus Tower Deluxe @ Caesars, and need to decide which one to keep.

Prices are about the same. I stayed @ Vdara earlier this year and really liked it, but would like the better location of Caesars, as I mostly play poker in that area. I'll be eating at various places @ Cosmo, Bellagio, etc, so everything is pretty close regardless of where I stay.

I've read some good recent reviews of the Caesars Augustus Tower deluxe rooms, can anyone give me some personal insights?

    Thanks!

I would say the rooms are somewhat comparable.

You say you are playing poker in the "area" of Caesars, so that might swing things that way. Back and forth to room at Vdara vs Caesars could be an issue. (across the street, through Bellagio shops, casino and back entry)

Also, the food court at Caesars adds options (knowing poker players sometimes have strange hours).

    Traveling alone? Other's wishes?

Traveling alone this trip, which makes the hotel choice more difficult, not less, unfortunately.

Think I'm going to stick w/ my Vdara reservation:
    1. Really nice rooms, all non-smoking
    2. Closer to Cosmo and Bellagio
    3. I rather like walking through Bellagio, the people watching is pretty good there
    4. I'll be gambling downtown one night anyways, so strip location-wise it matters less
    5. Very close to the restaurants at Aria, if the mood strikes me.

Last trip my wife and I stayed at Vdara, and we loved the hotel, location, and having access to the Aria pool. I just wish they had a slightly less dangerous route to get to the Cosmo. It's marked by crosswalks, but a pedestrian is going to get flattened some day by the cars entering the Cosmo drop-off area.

I can't speak highly enough about Vdara!! The rooms are great, easy in and out, the staff is great. The rooms are large. See if you can slip a 20 and get upgraded to a Vdara suite or a City Corner Suite:)

I know the dangerous route to Cosmo!! You can always go through Aria and take the bridge from Crystals, but that's a pain, but if you are in there already.

I have never stayed at a CET property so I can't comment on Caesars but I LOVE Vdara! Is it true that Vdara guests have access to the Aria pool as well? That was never mentioned at all when I was a guest at Vdara. The Vdara pool is not all that impressive so it would be good to know if the Aria pool was an option next time.

I am curious about this as well, as I have heard conflicting reports. We have always wanted to try Vdara, but my wife is a pool junkie so we always end up eliminating Vdara based on the strength of their pool compared to our other choices. If Vdara guests can use Aria pool, we may choose Vdara for early September trip.

I think we had access to the Aria pool only because Vdara's was under construction, but give them a call to find out for sure.

I do know that if you get a resort credit w/ your Vdara room, you can use it at the various restaurants @ Aria.
