Are the HVAC units the motion censored ones? I don't understand why so many places are going that route when it makes for such an uncomfortable night's sleep. I get the saving money aspect but I avoid hotels with that type of AC.

Just came back from staying in Augustus for five nights. We were the fourth people to stay in that room (31st floor) since the refurb. It was great -- everything was new -- beds, linens, pillows, towels, carpet, furniture, TV. It totally had the "new house" smell. It was beautiful, and we were quite happy! Had a great view of the fountains, too. No complaints whatsoever!

That was fast! It seems like that just opened and it was probably the nicest hotel room I've ever had. Of course that's now a few years ago.

Are they working on the Augustus Tower? Was there 2 years ago and thought the room was really nice as compared to Paris and Bally's.

We are at McCarran right now after 4 nights at Paris. We were on 29th floor which was same as before, but out our window across the 'X' we could see papers taped to the windows of rooms on floors 21-24. It appeared there was work going on in there.

Good to hear about the Paris rooms. All others renovations scheduled for this year have been on the website for some time now (Caesars Julius, PH Ultra Hip, Harrahs Carnival/Valley). Hopefully it won't be long before we see the new Paris rooms showing up online.

Yeah I think the PH renos are well underway. I booked 5 nights over Xmas in an "Ultra Hip"...they look to be a big upgrade over the old dark hip rooms. Looking forward to it.

Good thing they have these upgrades already in the works. It looks like the courts may put the entire corporation into bankruptcy tomorrow. Seems CZR's split off all of their loosing aspects from their winning ones and put the loosers into bankruptcy. This screwed their creditors while letting CZR keep working like all was just fine. Now the judge says, "No way". Either the whole thing goes into bankruptcy or you owe the billions. Billions. Fun to watch how CZR will wiggle their way out of this one.

I agree with this 100%, why anyone would use the word fun is beyond me. Too much is at stake and I hope things bounce back the way they should...........Rick

I stayed in one of the new ultra hips last month, I was 2 doors to the right of the lift and probably 2/3 floors from the top with a fountain view. Great room, first time at PH, I didn't care for the stroll to the elevators from the strip or the location of the DL but room was fresh and clean. I believe it did have the motion activated a/c so that sucked coming in after a day or waking up in the middle of the night with it off. Didn't gamble much there but saw plenty of working girls...
