Staying at MGM September 1-5th. My Thursday and Sunday are comped with reduced rates for weekend. We are booked in a Grand Queen. Would it be worth it to upgrade to an executive King? If so, do I simply call and ask the price difference or just wait until check-in and ask for price for upgrade then? My BF prefers the King rooms.

The M Life properties don't seem to let you do this much. Maybe it's different if you are paying for a few nights - but I have never had good luck getting a room upgrade ahead of time on my comped stays (unless I went through a host). Certainly is worth a phone call though. Good luck!

Unfortunately you were exactly right. I received a firm no when asking to upgrade room ahead of time. Maybe the 20 sandwich trick will do at check in :ssst:
