Is it worth asking for an upgrade from a King Hip Hollywood room and if so what kind of room would you ask for?

hollywood hip room is the lower level room of the hotel

    after that is goes

    Hip with view(strip view)
    mountain luxury(100 more square feet)
    premium fountain view
    resort
    resort vista
    strip suite
    panorama suite
    boulevard suite
    apex suite

depending on the dates, lenght of stay, with the 20$ trick its pretty doable to get upgraded up to resort level, some people got to panorama level on a 1night stay early in the week you can forget boulevard and apex level

Anyone know if the Mountain Luxury face east towards the mountains...or can they face to the sides Bally's/etc. I have been looking at reserving one of these for Sept.

I got upgraded to one last month. It faced east. Like, behind the hotel. It was on the corner.. not sure if they all are though.

I'd say pretty much a mountain room, or a view would be the best to ask for. I doubt they will hand you a suite. They have SO many normal rooms, their suites are hard to come by.

Also a tip, if you go in summer, Cosmo has really loud outdoor parties at night and you can hear it in the strip facing rooms, not having a strip view might be a good thing.

Last week I had a hip room and I got upgraded to a resort room over looking the fountains.

In Oct I had the same hip room and got upgraded to a panoramic suite.

I have a follow up question. I have a Strip Suite booked in September for 6 nights.

Has anybody had any success w/ the $20 trick to upgrade from a Strip Suite to a Panorama Suite?

Anyone have tips on upgrading from a hip king for a one night stay on a Saturday? Any idea on what to expect with a $20 sandwich?

    Good thread.

I've actually asked the same thing in terms of upgrading a Strip Suite to a Panorama Suite. I see your comments below. Do you think it's worth a shot to try with a Saturday check in?
