I just received an offer to upgrade from Mandalay Bay standard room to TheSuite room for $20 per night? Should I do it?

Are all the TheSuite rooms in TheHotel?
Do TheHotel and Mandalay Bay share all common areas?
If we have friends staying at Mandalay Bay will we feel like we are staying at a different hotel property from them...too hard, far, etc to get from one anothers rooms?
Do TheSuites have mini fridges in the bar?
How do the beds compare at the two properties?
Is the distance to the pool more or less than from a standard room at Mandalay bay?

There's a thread currently on page 2 of this forum titled TheHOTEL vs. Mandalay Bay that had someone in a very similar scenario. I think it will answer many of your questions.

(I tried to link to it, but I guess I don't have enough clout on this site to include urls in posts without my post being approved by a moderator.)

Thank you, I guess I should read through the posts before starting my own.

TheHotel rooms sound great, love the second 1/2 bath and extra room. But I am still not sure that outweighs the extra walk to the pool and trying to meet up with friends staying at Mandalay Bay tower.

    Decisions...... decisions......

    DO IT !

You are just across the casino. Do it.

Heck, see if they can get in on the same offer as well!

Unless you have mobility issues, the "extra walk" across the casino is no biggie.

THEhotel rooms are awesome, very big. They are a little bit worn, but so are Mandalay's. I think it's worth it for the extra space. It is quite far from the pool, but other than that I can't see any reason to not do it!

Everything is shared with Mandalay Bay you just walk down a pathway from THEhotel to Mandalay Bay, it drops you out by the Sports Book.

And honestly it's not a longer walk and actually shorter if you are a Poker or table gamer mainly, much shorter for poker players. One thing not mentioned I think is that it is a short walk as well through THEs parking garage to many of Mandalays dining places as well. But the pool is a long walk from anywhere/

I have this same offer and wondering the same thing. Im staying 4 nights so it would be $80 extra. Most are saying its worth it? How far is pool from thehotel vs MB? Is thehotel considered to be behind MB? And is the views the same in both?

both hotels empty into the casino.

For $20 a night, you get a REAL suite. Separate living room/bedroom. What is not to like?

You have to walk through the casino to the MB elevators and go down to the beach. It's not that bad... THEhotel is basically another tower. Different views, because it's a different tower.

    Haha!!

Just got back Wednesday from my stay at TheHotel, i had originally booked Mandalay but received the 20 upgrade email. Its a no brainer just do the upgrade!

highly worth it, i had a great stay, the suites are awsome with all the amenities you would ever need.
