I could not find the original thread on this, but here's an update. The original involved some kind of a limit on the number of drinks that the casino could sell to a player in a certain time. This is at the Horseshoe Council Bluffs, a local casino in the Omaha area. Somebody here had said there was some kind of limit like one drink per hour, which I knew was not true. I had then asked a bartender and he laughed and said that something like that would be impossible to enforce. Well, last Saturday I was playing at the Horseshoe and waiting on line at the beer cart. The guy right in front of me asked for four beers and the lady there said that she could only serve him two, but to just get back on line and get two more. Soooo, I asked what the official story was. She said that officially there was a limit of one drink every 20 minutes, but they would sell you two as long as one of them was for somebody else. I didn't ask about the obvious "just go through the line again" request. I know that even this (20 minutes) would be impossible to enforce since there are three bars there (that I know of, there's prolly one in the High Roller area and one in the Diamond Lounge but those are off limits to me) and there's no way that they would know who had how much. Oh well -- That's the reply I got.
