My wife is going to a convention the 2nd week of August, and I agreed to go because hey it's in Vegas and I can get free rooms. So I booked a regular free room at Southpoint but when I booked it I mentioned that I might have a few convention people over the first night for a "meet and greet" sort of thing with people my wife knows. I asked if it would be possible to get the 1500sqft 2 bedroom suite I'd stayed in before, for one night and then a regular room for the other three nights. That way there'd be enough room to host people.

She said, actually I'll just give you that suite for the 4 nights.

So today I send a note and reminded her that we'd be having 10-12 people over that first night.

She said, well with that many people it might just be easier to put you in the 2500sqft luxury suite for all 4 nights.

    Ok :)

I will be staying at Southpoint two weeks later. I'll just be staying in the basic king room though ;)

Hardly. I'm well aware that my level of play doesn't really justify that room, but she was kind enough to accommodate this large group I wanted to bring in. I'm sure most of the guests have never heard of southpoint. I'm a pretty regular quarter VP player, but I like to play multi-line .5 SuperTimes pay. I have long sessions and play fast, but again certainly nothing that would justify this room. They have always been awesome there, and gone over the top to make me happy. No idea why. I'm not that awesome....

Maybe it's a slow time and your host was in a good mood! Who knows why but it sounds like a total blast.

Enjoy the room and the party!

    Cheers,
    Kelly

2 years ago over 4th of July weekend we went with our two sons 21 and 18 and host offered two bedroom suite instead of usual 1 bedroom. When we arrrived we were in luxury two bedroom at end of tower and my wife and kids and I were just flabbergasted at the room. Very luxurious and a memory we will always have felt like out of place but in good way. Enjoy it
