I failed to grab all the details, but a recent article in the LV Sun indicated that that gaming for the month of April this year in the downtown area was UP 25% over last year.

Perhaps, downtown's not a secret anymore! That's good news, as property owners continue to invest downtown. Really excited to see what happens when Zappos relocates and all those reasonably well-paid hipsters move into the area with $$$ to spend. Plus as most of us know... downtown is a helluva lot of fun!

That's probably what Binion's and Lady Luck were needing to hear. Maybe now they'll start those engines again.

I don't think it has anything to do with downtown being a secret....

While I am glad to see the hotels investing in themselves. I do NOT want the area to become another "Strip" so to speak. I stay downtown for cheap hotels, cheap food, and an over all better gamble/odds than the strip has to offer.

6/5 is alive and well downtown, 5 dollar minimums are everywhere now even the gold spike changed their "$3 Dollar Sexy Blackjack" to "$5 Dollar Sexy Blackjack" the last time I was there.

You'll be hard pressed to find a blackjack table with a limit less than 5 dollars anywhere anymore.

While I understand that casinos are in business to make money surely there has to be someone somewhere that will give the low roller market a shot. Maybe boulder highway?
