Did anyone else receive a telephone call from a host from the Tropicana? I received a telephone call last week on my cell phone from a host at the Tropicana who explained to me all the great upgrades that had occurred at the Tropicana. I have never even stepped foot inside of the Tropicana casino so I have no idea how my private cell phone number ended up in the hands of one of their hosts.

I did not really care about his sales pitch because I am stubborn and am small minded and I had already decided a long time ago that the Tropicana was a crappy hotel and I was never going to stay there. However, my curiosity got the best of me and I asked him how he got my number. He mumbled that he did not know, but I suspect otherwise. I think he was either an ex-host of another casino and had pilfered a player list, or someone at another hotel had sold the Tropicana a list of players.

    Any thoughts from the gallery?

I received this call around november of 2011 when they had remodeled the hotel. He didn't tell me where he got my information but i asked what he was offering. He gave me 2 rooms and 2 tickets to their NYE party. I took up the offer since it was a pretty big upfront offer for me, especially for new years. I took it, didn't give as much action as I wanted to, and they haven't offered me anything since.

Ask what they're offering you, and if it's good, take it.

Tropicana can suck a big bag of dicks. I posted in another thread about how they reneged on an offer they sent me. Do you play at Mandalay Bay? They probably got your phone number and info from there. The Trop has a mole working at MB. Somehow the people at the Slopicana got ahold of my play, theo and my offers from Mandalay Bay back in Oct 2012 and I was told that's how they got it.

I got a voicemail from them too probably around this time, I don't remember exactly it was a long time ago but I remember it was after they finished remodeling. I didn't pay any attention to it because I hadn't been to Vegas for a while before that so figured they must be calling almost anyone. I also recently got a letter from some host there in the last couple of months. If they shared their players club with the Tropicana in AC I'd probably give them some play but its not owned by the same group.

Coming from a sales background I can say with confidence that this persons boss thought it was a god idea to dig up old players files and call them.

Of course that is what they do. Hosts are salespeople. We are customers or suckers.

Luckily they look for people that want comps and we are there to take them.
