    Hi,

Looking for a little help and advise, I have visited Vegas a couple of time and plan on visiting again in May 17 my last visit was Feb 16

I don't understand the comps and what to expect a lovely host is always nice to me but I feel that they may do to much and I don't want to push it

I have just managed to find that I can sign up to my life online and this is what it shows

What does it mean and what value do I have as a customer

That info doesn't really help in answering your questions. You have over a hundred dollars in express comps that you can use to pay for things at MGM properties (such as meals). But you would need to provide a lot more information to try and get any useful answers to your questions. I would recommend reviewing the numerous threads in the comps section to answer your questions

451k Tier Credits sounds like a big number. But I'm don't play at MGM. And it looks like yours expire at the end of this month. I would think someone here can expand on this.

A host's job is to give you 'stuff'. That is their job. Give you 'stuff'. Stuff includes everything the casino can legally give you...starting with free room stays, free meals, free play. Play a bit more and they can give you free limo rides to/from the airport, free limo rides to other properties (preferably another Mlife property), free 'stuff' for your room such as gift baskets, booze and suite upgrades. The list continues. BUT, and it's a big BUT...they don't know what you want if you don't ask. It never hurts to ask. If your play isn't sufficient to cover a comp you're asking for they will just tell you that they can't do that for you right now, but perhaps if your play increases they can swing it later. They rarely just say, "No" but it comes to the same result. In casino host life, if you don't ask you don't get. This is their job. They expect you to ask them for things. They are your personal concierge...use them. They get paid on a percentage of what you gamble...so you are paying them to be a liason for you. They WANT to book your room for you...then your play is their paycheck. They want you to come back to them when you book another trip so they want to give you everything you want...the casino sets their perimeters but they won't tell you what they are.

Did you get all 451,000 tier credits on your last trip? Was your last trip for only a few days? If so, I'm surprised you only have $174 in comps and no free-play.

HI Dino, 451k is a great number, but like others said, unfortunately you can't base comps on it.

How many trips was it on? How many properties was is spread over? Mlife is like a frachise, overall credits affect express comps, tier credit, and blanket corporate offers, but unfortunately individual properties look at what your play is at THEIR property.

But, I totally agree with Smerrian, as long as you ask nicely, you won't offend them. I personally would suggest asking vaguely "what type of room comps, resort credit and free play might my play make me eligible for?"

If you ask for a specific type of room, and it's under what you're eligible for, they won't usually throw the nicer room at you. Once you get a baseline, you can nicely ask for extras. (E.g. if you find your eligible for a high-end suite, but prefer more RC, you can ask for a lower room and see if they'll up TC.) Their job is balancing giving you enough to keep you happy, but not throw the farm at you if you don't need/want it, so definitely ask!

My rule of thumb in Vegas, if you're nice and polite, they won't be offended if you ask too high, they'll just counter with an offer more in your ballpark.

You can also ask if they can "cover transportation" from the airport. If you're not spread too thin amongst trips/properties, you might be eligible for limo service, and "transportation" is a subtle way to ask. :)

I'm hoping you have some great offers and a great trip!

How many nights have you stayed at MLife properties since last Oct 1?

You have 53,822 Holiday Gift Shoppe points, which normally is the same as base points, which would equate to 53,822 * $3 coin in on slots, or $161,466 coin in (at least).

Your ratio of base points to Tier Credits basically indicates that almost all of your Tier Credits are coming from gambling, which means you're already not paying for anything while you're there. Your ratio is basically the same as mine, except yours is 10x mine (mine are 5,321 HGS points and 48,000 Tier Credits)

So what you're entitled to on a per-night or per-trip basis depends on how long it took you to do that much gambling.

Just as a ballpark, if you played slots, figure you generated $16,000 in theoretical win for the casino. I like to use 20% - 25% of theo as the benchmark for comps for MLife. So I'd say you're entitled to between $3,200 and $4,000 in comps since last Oct 1. That would include the cost of rooms, freeplay and resort credit, and any other room charges you had comped.

So divide $3,200 at the low end and $4,000 (maybe a little more) at the high end by the number of nights you've stayed, and that should give you a range of what you should be getting in total comp value per night (not including Express Comps and PointPlay).

If you did that much gambling in 20 nights, depending on the property, you should be getting a regular room, or a nice version of a regular room, plus some free play and resort credit.

If you did it in 10 nights, you should be getting a suite, and more freeplay and resort credit.

If you did it in 5 nights, you should be getting a big suite, even more freeplay and resort credit, and someone asking you if there's anything they can do for you.

I stayed in Feb 15 then August 15 then Feb 16 all for just a week at same resort iv only played across 3/4 MGM but 90% of play proberly resort I stay in I don't keep tabs on what I actually spend normally take $10,000 with me and luckily I win a few $2/3k plus JP and spend it again

My August trip they gave me a penthouse and comped a lot of stuff

My express points have been used as I feel bad getting things comped think we used $800 of them in August for a friends room then few hundred for a meal at hakasan

I'm assuming once they expire it's time to start again on my next trip in may 17?

I'm not going again till then as iv taking 12 people with me this time and have to pay for them so watching the $

So in a nut shell I take it I'm starting again in May 2017 when I visit?

You should call casino VIP at Monte Carlo. Or you can contact a host through the Monte Carlo website. They will look at your previous casino play and make offers accordingly.

That's if you want to go there. Also remember they are rebranding, so it will be uncertain what that property will be like at that time.

The win for the casino is the amount the casino expects to win from you based on the way slot machines are set up. I use 10% as an easy way to do estimates. Some machines it's higher, some it's lower.

Your win/loss statement covers a calendar year - is that for 2015 or 2016? If it's 2016 and you only made the one trip, and if that win loss statement represents all slot machine play (and no or very little video poker), then:

    • My original estimates were about right
    • You did very well in terms of luck - you only lost about 6% of your coin in while only hitting 2 or 3 handpays. Of course you'd like to have more handpays, but your results were really very good
    • You said your stay was 7 nights, so you're doing over $20,000 a night coin in, about $2,000 a night in theo, so around $500 a night or more in comp value. That's enough to get a nice suite for yourself, or probably 2 or 3 regular rooms.
    • MLife Tier Credits reset to zero on Oct 1, but you don't lose your Express Comps. And you don't really star over again in terms of offers, they're based on your history, not your current tier score. Just check your account online or call the hotel you want to stay at

    Hi chuck

Yeah iv only visited once this year for a week in Feb

See I did get introduced to a host but iv emailed them and don't know if still there as not got back to me so was thinking because I have not went back and after seeing the date for expiry that they just not wanting to entertain me for my May 2017 visit

In may I'm taking 28 people with me for my wedding how cheesy I know but we have ended up booking hotels via a travel agency as no one returned my email to host

So from what you have said am I correct at thinking that even in may 17 I could still get some comps?

In 2015 I visited twice both for a week just attached that statement I didn't know about mlife till I had already lost 5k :( then a lovely guy told me I didn't have a card in machine and why, says when I log in get free room before December standard suites and 1500 free play assuming that will all disappear

I am at Pearl status, nowhere near your play levels or Theo and I have free rooms, F&b credit, freeplay and will be looked after well on our upcoming trip. If I were at your level I would be asking for Mars and accepting the Moon in consolation - if you don't ask you don't get and their job as host is to keep you coming back! Good luck!

See this is what I really don't understand here in the U.K. I spend thousands of dollars a week at casinos and we get a whopping points play of 1c per pound spent / lost as free play

I know they did take care of me last time but what's the limit I didn't like asking for things as didn't want to seem ungreatful

Does your players card expire? As mines says sept 2016 for expiry

Just wondering all this as if i won't get anything in may 2017 I may as well change hotel groups and have a change if starting from scratch

    OK a few things:
    • Vegas casinos will generally comp you a total of between 20 - 33% of your theoretical in the form of rooms and food and beverage and freeplay. I usually use towards the lower end of that range for MLife because I think that's how they operate.
    • You played more on your single trip in 2016 than you did on two trips in 2016. Any way you want to look at it, a casino is going to think that's fine.
    • You had to book a lot of rooms, so I don;t blame you for doing it already through a third party, but the casino won;t be able to comp any rooms booked that way - instead, they will have to comp you in the form of Food & Beverage credit, and I'd stick to my original numbers - $150,000 coin in should be worth almost $4,000 in F & B. Hope you can use it all. Although If you still need more rooms than you have booked already, my guess is that you could get 2 or 3 free standard rooms comped, or one good suite.
    • If you hadn't booked through a third party, this would be my advice:
      • Your card has an expiration date on it, but the card itself and your account don;t expire - that date (Sep 30 / Oct 1) is when MLife resets Tier Credits. You have enough tier credits to be Platinum again from Oct 1, 2016 to Sep 30, 2017. However many tier credits you earn on your next trip (if it's the only one in 2017) will determine your tier for Oct 1 2017 to Sep 30, 2018.
      • Your current offers may expire on Dec 31 of this year, but since you had a trip in 2016, I have very little doubt that you will receive new offers that will extend into 2017. You probably won't get offers that cover May, until February or March come around.
      • No idea why you wouldn't have received an email back from a host, that's crazy. Forget about email for now.
      • You don't have to wait - figure out the hotels you're interested in staying at on your next trip, and CALL and tell them what the trip is going to involve, and ask what they can arrange. Chances are, they will put you through to a host who will help you. A host can give you an idea of what you can expect to get as far as rooms (assuming you expect to play near the same amount), and can actually book rooms for you. The host may be able to offer you freeplay and resort credit right away, or they may say they have to wait for an official offer to come out. When you eventually see offers in your account that cover May, the host can attach the offer code to your reservation(s) so you'll get the freeplay and resort credit components.

Shame we booked Excalibur hotel for stay just because of price for the amount of people going, I have taken your advise and just messaged there reservations to say iv booked rooms via 3rd party can they all be together with my mlife card number hint hint

Thank you Chuck and if your in Vegas In may I owe you a drink
