The 7th grade teacher is teaching probability and brought out the dice.....

Is this to early to teach them why the hardways are sucker bet? Or the House edge on placing 6/8 vs big 6/8? :evillaugh

    Never too early!

My wife teaches 7th and 8th grade math. She uses cards and dice all the time. Current card supply courtesy of "The Cal". Might as well get them using "official" cards right away!

Really???? I hope your sarcastic!!! I'm from the southwest side of Chicago. In the early 60's, along with baseball gloves, basketballs, footballs, etc , we lagged coins, played nickel poker & bounced the dice off the garage door. The funny thing is we grew up to be responsible. LOL YES, it's good math.

It was one die. They had to figure out probability of getting numbers 1 to 6. Then did 20 trials then reported out results. Same with coins flipping a coin....

What would I be sarcastic about? Two kids did take two dice and started shooting...not for $ but cleary they knew what was up with rules

My high school statistics teacher taught us Craps after the AP tests were done. We calculated the probabilities for all the bets on the table and after a bit a friend and I went to the closest indian casino and played for the first time since we were 18.
