Long flight direct with virgin - premium economy was excellent. Presidential Limo (was actually a big escalade or similar) via a liquor store - nick the driver was awesome.

Check in not too long and room is cool - some shots of the view below:

Going to get refreshed and have a look around - been a long day travelling so nothing too major planned for tonight.

Rocky - sure we can catch up later in the week

Due to to being up pretty much 24 hours last night was quiet - had a few tapas dishes from Julian Serrano to share - sliders and venison meatballs were great, calamari was average at best (overlooked).

I aim to try a few US IPA's and craft beers on the trip and had a couple of bottles of 'Flat Tyre' with dinner - which was good. GF had a sangria which was not to my taste but she liked it.

Sorted out a M-Life card and explored the hotel including some drinks and video poker - I won a bit, GF lost a bit but even between us. My first hand at video poker was 3OAK which hit a full house - so hopefully good karma to come.

The 11h flight, travelling and 8h time difference was taking its toll so decided to call it a night in preparation for another 13 days in vegas - the Aria beds are really comfortable!

Woke up early - plans are to walk up the strip and collect CET card for GF, looks like a nice morning so breakfast and people watch at Mon Ami Gabi - from memory I think there are outside tables(?).

After that I plan to play in the Venetian deep stack and the GF is going shopping - depending on how well I run at poker plans for this evening are fluid.

Never done a trip report (or similar) - so go easy on me - more pics will follow......

Update - turns out GF didn't like the sangria, although she drank it all......too polite to tell the barman (how English)

Walk down to Paris and had breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi - great spot on the terrace to people watch.

I had three the three eggs with bacon, GF the hazelnut and chocolate waffles. Both were really good.

Picked up the GF's CET card and wandered up towards the Venetian.

Minor gamble at Paris and then took a slow walk via casinos and various games to Venetian.

Picked up grazie cards and registered for deepstack. Had a look round and played video poker for a hour and a half - I broke even after a few 4oaks - GF lost (this is becoming a theme....)

I went to play in the deepstack - good fun never really got much going lost a big hand full house vs full house and then AQ vs 88 - had a few beers and some good table banter.

GF went shopping and lost at slots.

Went to grab a drink - decent IPA and cocktail for her.

Then noticed that sushi samba has a happy hour - they have one in London which is at the heron tower (top of a big building in the city for non English)

Well that was the plan....ended up chatting to an ex-pat and guy from California in Public House and sinking a few beers (cocktails for the lady) and then made it to sushi samba.

Sushi samba was excellent - especially at happy hour prices! We had two beers, two cocktails and 7 dishes for $70 - 7 dishes sounds a lot but they are small but very tasty.

Too lazy to walk back to Aria (I was well into a number of beers at this point) so grabbed a cab - side note, he was one of the most informed guys on Scottish independence and a great chap!

Back to room to freshen up but........a quick snooze.....it's now 11pm so heading out for a few drinks and gambling - GF wants to go to Cosmo.

Some pictures - one is a cocktail the GF had which looked more like a dessert!

4:40 and made it back - Cosmo is not my sort of place but the GF loved the sparkly stuff. Lots of grey goose for me - GF was drinking chocolate martini's and then cosmopolitans - both playing video poker - lost a few quid.

Found a stupid fishing game which in my drunken state I decided was a game of skill and I was bob nudd - alas it is not a game if skill and despite more grey goose I lose some dosh.

Ordered some room service and will go to the south of the strip tomorrow - not played craps yet - this is an urge I need to scratch.

Hope you like the report - if not sorry.

Ha, on our trip in August my buddy caught the $200 monster fish betting only 60 cents at Cosmo on the fishing game. We were also well into the sauce and he was getting a little aggressive with the reel...eventually it will tell you if you are being too rough on it!

Feeling a tad under the weather - up and out at 11 and headed to pick up tickets for KA tonight - took ages but free with GF myvegas points!

Got an email from Cosmo telling me I had $30 of free play - probably based on my drunk fishing experiment. GF got one too so will head back for more video poker at some point.

Decided to head over to Monte Carlo on the tram - not entirely sure the tram ride was worth it as it was not far - but the tram is cool.

Had a look around Monte Carlo and decided to kill off the hangover with the hair of the dog. Went to diablo's cantina - Couple if beers for me and a strawberry margarita for the GF - she said it was very nice and it was a decent size. We also had a sharing starter with tacos, hot wings which hit the spot.

Seems to be a reoccurring scenario but got chatting to a great guy from New York and we sunk a few beers and chatted.

Headed over to MGM as GF wanted to do the CSI experience - meh - 30 bucks a head - who knew it was so easy to be a CSI!?

Bit of video poker and more beers - between us ended up couple of hundred.

Went to KA, great seats two rows from the from and centre - amazingly talented people and great show, but I think you would need to be on drugs to understand the storyline!

Walked back to the aria and it was quicker than the tram - lesson learned there!

Off out for some dinner and merriment - turns out I am rubbish at remembering to take pictures but the GF has some which I will upload when I get home

Best of luck Rubos! Interested to hear which poker room you like best if you bounce around to more than one.

Thanks for the feedback everyone - I will post about the poker rooms towards the end of the trip - list so far would be Aria, Venetian, MGM - didn't play at Monte Carlo but will try to swing by during the trip.

Quick update from last night - ate at lemongrass at Aria. Good Thai food - seafood noodles and tai Chen chicken stood out for me.

Going to pick up the $30 free play at Cosmo and head down town today. We want to visit the mob museum and hit some of the casinos - we also have $50 match play each at the D - thinking of GF taking red and I take black and hope that green doesn't hit to lock in a small win with the match play.

Will also teach the GF about craps at the low min bet tables and I want to play at bit of poker at some of the old school rooms.
