After saving for a year and a half, trip time finally came!!! First time on Allegiant air, so bored sitting there for four and half hours. Yes, we are old, but still kids at heart. We got so stir crazy, we actually played rock, paper, scissors! (much to the discust of the couple sitting across from us) I got video of it, but my husband decided to photobomb with giving me the finger after beating me three times in a row, so guess I can't post that here, but you get the picture. We got cards for the trip home, at least it passed the long hours in cramped seats. We are fairly low rollers, but this trip proved to be a dream! Budget was 300 per day spending money for him, and 300 for me. He mostly plays poker tourneys, with a little blackjack and craps. He did win one day for 400 +, but two tourneys a day for four days, he lost more than half of his budget.. Me, I play it all. Slots, Mississipi Stud, Three Card, Let it Ride. And I played a lot! Needless to say, dealer hit a straight flush for me on MS, hit 3 of a kind on 3 card poker, and one early, it was a full house on MS at the Four Queens. So after this, I got three 8's on three card, so was up. We had one day left, so did something risky. I saw a 5 dollar Top doller machine with my name on it. Had ten spins to make our trip money for next time. I slid in the hundo, saying goodbye to it as it slid through the feeded. First spin, nothing. Second spin, a cherry. Third spin, got the bonus!!!! And I have never seen this offer on the first offer, but I hit 5000!!!!!! I have video on my phone, but could not get it to my email to put on here. I was so thrilled!!!!! Got on a losing streak when I saw a super spin poker game. It took 18 quarters per spin, so risked a hundo. Three four 3's and and Ace.Cashed out over 500! Liked the Nugget, but the gold tower rooms have the worst bathroom setup. Clear sliding door to bathroom. So every morning when hubby got up early, the light illuminated the room like an explosion so it was not a restful trip this time. Next time, we will insist on a room with a bathroom door. Other than that, staff and casino, couldn't ask for better. This is our first trip downtown, and I love it. Done the Vegas strip thing fifteen times, and now that we are in our 50's and 60's, it's too far to walk between casinos, so now we are sold on downtown. I find the slots are much looser and food cheaper. One thing I will never forget, FRIED TWINKIES!!! OMGOSH, I heard people talk about them here, and they are right, it is a must!! Forgive me on the pictures, I have never tried to post them before. I found the Plaza to be dismal. No one in there. Old and depressing. Surprised me because the room videos on utube look pretty nice. The Cal was pleasant, won on slots. We also had two 50 dollar match plays from Allegiant, and both won on the red in roulette. Haters will hate me, but loved the quaintness of Four Queens. We had several BOGO for Magnolias, and it was good. I loved watching people play while eating. They have cleaned it up since two years ago, it no longer smells like vomit. Carpets were clean and won on slots some! I feel like fellow poster and utuber, Matt Bridger, downtown places have history souls. I felt so comfortable there. Last day I was doing nothing but losing on everything I tried. My last minutes at GN, I decided to put a hundo on the roulette wheel with my sister's numbers. I chose five numbers, nothin. (5 dollar chips) Then hit a split number yay! Was happy with that, but figured, we are leaving so go for it. I put fifteen dollars on my five numbers and boom, 20 hit for a cool 500. Took 800 home! All in all, a five night trip, we brought home 1800 more than we came with. What a dream! And I got to play stakes and things I normally can't and this time, got lucky.Doubt I will be doing those things again unless I am up and can risk 100, but not habitually or I know I would be broke fast. As all of us, the trip home is always so sad. Such a long travel day and not sure when I will be back. If I have it my way, it will be soon!!! Already trying to plan a trip in April with my son! Thanks for listening!
