    My Trip Report

Flew out of Louisville on a four hour grind to my favorite place. Meeting my friend
and her hubby. We. are all 51, and went to high school and college together so since
she lives in TX, we Don't get to see each other often.

Flight was on time, sat next to a couple who had to be ninety, bless the mans heart,
He asked me to get up so he cud go to bathroom and spilt his drink in my lap!!!

Now I have a big wet spot that looks like I had an accident. The flight attendant was funny
and kept making includes incontinent jokes about me so my flight was fun but
    weird.lol

So walked through the airport and into hotel like CLark Griswald, thanking myself
For at least wearing black pants.

Had resort too booked and they thru in a fridge for asking and gave four free
High roller ride passes,so tipped the guy. Love having a fridge!

Room is nice, older but clean. Have a view of the pools on 6th floor, but who
    cares I'm in Vegas!

Played slots and man, this place is tight. Pretty much I am on of the oldest
    people here but who cares.

My friends arrive tomorrow so with my budget spent and being tired I am
chiiling in the room relaxing and worn out from travel.

Have three my Vegas buffets so plan to use those and let you know how
    it is.

Thursday we have limo ride booked for free to Casa di amore, got a 25 voucher
If you spend 37.50 off eBay for this place so sounds like a fun time. Will
Report on that too. Anyone else been there?

Will have to wait til I return saterday to post pics.

Low rolling budget this trip but ah, just to be in Vegas, five days of
    self indulgance and laughter.

Just hope there's no more drink accidents lol.

Sorry for the delay.. We were at Planet Hollywood. Hunter comped resort rooms for us. They were nice, older, but nice.

The hotel was wild and hopping every night, even though it was weekdays. Very loud music, especially at night and the young crowd loved it.
It actually got be be pleasant after we got used to it.

Planet Dailes was where we ate many times, food is good and service was mostly good. Sometimes it was slow, but we weren't in any hurry.

Played tons of slots, some table games and lost our rears! Have to say I don't remember in the past 20 years, any place that none of us could hit
    anything on.

We walked to Paris Monday evening, played some table games with little success, but liked the music and ambience there. D liked playing video poker and having a drink, and meeting people at the bar, she never meets a stranger! She met a local guy who talked for awhile and we walked back.

Bellagio myvegas lunches, 2 and 1 free. I have never eaten there and I have to say, people are right, it is probably the best buffet on the strip. Thankfully, got mine secured before the mandatory stay was implemented!

Then walked, with full bellies to Cosmo, to donate some more to slots, but that is a beautiful place.

Our highlight, believe it or not, was downtown. We took the SDX from Paris to Freemont. Ride was ok, fun to see the strip always. It dropped us off and the first place we stopped was 4 Queens. It honestly, smelled like vomit in there. But I was winning, for the first time, I was winning!!! Everything I touched, made 250 on the wheel of fortunes, penny wheel of fortune up front I won another 160.

Taking in the shock of not losing, walked to Golden Nugget. This place was pretty nice compared to the VomitQueens. Had been here years ago and still like it, Old Vegas.D went to the video poker bar and M (her hubby) played the penny slots. We all came out about even and headed to Binions.

This was my gold mine! Played some dollar WOF and won a little, then headed over to the Missippi Stud table. I didn't realize on a Thursday that the table limit was 10, but tried my luck, nervously... First hand was pocket Kings', about the third hand was pocket Jacks, fifth hand I forgot but it was two pair. Played a couple more and cashed out with 400, so a nice 300 profit.

I have to say, when I was younger, I hated downtown and wondered why anyone would stay there. Now that my ankles were swollen like elephant trunks, and legs so sore, it was great to walk from one casino to another so fast!

And we got to see the night show, the area was crowded and a jazz player was playing, really cool! I will try to post a picture of what we saw there.

Hope the picture comes through. There was a guy dressed like Chris Farley, he had the head jerks down and was taking pictures with people for tips. It is fun just watching as he walked around, staying in character the whole time, even when no one was near him.

Binions, won another 200 on various slots, and went to the steakhouse for a treat. When we arrived Thursday night around 9, there were only two other tables seated. The place was dead. The lady at the desk asked if we had a reservations. I said, "Umm, no but it looks like you have plenty of tables available?" She seemed somewhat pissed and sent us to our table. Not sure what was up with her.

The service otherwise was fantastic!!! The food was impeccable, had the steak special for 20 bucks, two wines, two lobster bisque soups, and split a dessert, can't remember the name, but all of it was to die for. Nice window view and this place is a gem I had never known about! Our bill came to about 90 dollars for two, so a good bargain for all we got.

Our last hours in Vegas, ate lunch at Planet Dailies again, and headed out to make the last try, to regain some of our money back.

D hit the slots, I headed for the tables, normally a 5 dollar player, I was ready for the 10 dollar tables. I wasn't even nervous this time!!

Miss Stud table, made 500 in fifteen minutes so cashed out when a new dealer came in, supersticious I guess.

Nothing at the Let It Ride table, lost a hundred there.

Table hopped at 3 card poker tables and started hitting. Cant remember how many flushes, straights and pairs, hit the 6 card straight a few times, and upped my bets, finally cashed out 600.

All in all, though the first four days were nothing but losing, the last 1 1/2 made the trip a lot of fun. Think I came out about 1500 loses, so that is more than I planned on but still came out okay. Got a great vacation for that and was flying high to have won at least some back.

I made platinum, D made diamond and though rooms were comped, and I think she got 250 freeplay, we payed for all our food.

Hunter was on vacation so hated to bother him. But as we were leaving, the baggage guy mentioned there was a PH limo we could take, if we wanted to ask the VIP desk. D got this look of Hummmm..... she asked if they would comp us a limo to the airport and they did, Hunter confirmed it today that he covered it. Think they took our comp balance which was not much left, maybe 40 bucks, but we didn't care. No waiting in line for a cab.

    Sorry there weren't more photos.

To recap, I wouldn't choose PH again unless D was going and really wanted to. I liked it, but it's just a little wild for this ol girl. Everything else was ok, though.

I totally changed my thoughts of downtown, now I love it! Next trip will probably be next year. I plan to stay on the strip near bus stop, and bus it downtown half the time for the better slots and old vegas.

That feeling of excitement before a trip, the tired sadness when you get home, I have had it all. I love Vegas, and wish we would spend winters there for a couple of months at least, and get out of the Ky dreariness. Maybe one day...

Now to start saving for the next time, my heart is always in Vegas. It's funny how I spend time doing social rewards and myvegas, reading message boards, it's just all part of the dream of next time.

Oh, another thing I learned. When we were ready to leave downtown, we went to the same bus stop where we were dropped off and noticed a sign that said it did not pick up
    between 5:15 and midnight.

We asked a guy where the nearest one was, and ended up at two more before finding one about three blocks later of walking, and it was the Duece, we knew it would take longer but were so tired we didnt' care.

Maybe someone here can tell us where to go exactly if coming out of Binions, to catch the bus back to the strip?

Great TR and congrats with recovering a large part of your losses during the last two days. I kinda have the same feeling about Downtown as you had before. It just doesn't do it for me. I love the Strip but maybe I should give downtown a try for a night or two.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Totally agree with your assessment.
If you want to gamble, go downtown.
If you want to look good throwing money in the air then the Strip is the place to go.
