    My Trip Report

+ The Last Writes + (Finally)
Yea, whoopee ,great ,happy days are ahead for you non Tunica fans. As you know Harrahs in Tunica closed June 2nd. The last trip from Roanoke was on June 22nd which I went to pay my respects so this will be my last boring ,crappy Tunica trip reports which wasn’t read by too many anyway so I guess it’s a small loss for the trip report category.
We now will stay at the Horseshoe for this trip. I never stayed there so it will be a new experience to add to my gambling casinos stays. There are no more trips for the remainder of this year. I hope something will happen next year to satisfy my gambling fever.
This is a shared flight with Richmond so I guess it will be a full flight I would think that Richmond alone could fill the flight ,but I suppose they wanted to be sure. They will leave from Richmond first so the flight for Roanoke will be around 2 hours .

I miss Harrahs as the other casinos have no 9/6 video poker to play, so I will play more Blackjack this trip. They took out all the good video poker games from the Roadhouse and Horseshoe never had any. There was no free play or free buffets given to me so I still will ask for comps and see what happens to keep my FDC standing intact. They were generous in the past about food comps so, I hope it continues for this trip.

I be thinking, should I adopt a plan for this trip? BC guys hit and run approach ? B’Rats short coin bets/ Chump &Bad Girls increasing your wagers when ahead strategy? Greggs playing more other games besides video poker?

Hit and run is out ,cause where would I go? I am so due for a royal ,I’m afraid I’d hit one with short coin played. With my luck lately I may never get far ahead to use that 20 -20 approach. I would probably pick more losing games with playing other machines.
I guess I still will use my haphazardly ways ,hoping for at least more playing time to lessen my cash outflow. All right who cares what I do anyway.

Gambling is what most readers care about. Played around 90 % v p and the rest on blackjack and slots.
    Blackjack:
One of the worst sessions I ever had playing blackjack Two days not one blackjack and dropped $300. One hand I split 3’s 4 x and doubled on one hand for a 50 dollar bet and lost on all hands Dealer had a bust card on top but hit a 20 to beat me. My streak continues.
    Slots:
Tried several different slots playing quarters fifty cents and dollars with no decent hits 4 and little [lay time. Even tried that keno thingy.
    Video Poker :
Play the majority of my time on ultimate times machines for nickels and dimes triple play d d bonus poker .This highly addictive game has some high peaks and valleys. Alas more valleys than peaks. Had some nice hits on triple play and one time was death 4 deuces with a 4 x multiplier. Kept the deuces and drew a kicker on one hand for two 1600 and one 3200 win for a 6400 coin win, One other time with 4aces with kicker and 3x multiplier for a 6000 coin win and one other time with a 2x multiplier.
I finally figured how this game works, To get a decent multiplier you must have a decent hit A full house gets you a 12 x on the next hand in which you had the full house. Flush gives you a 10x ,straight 8x on the next round, You can get a pair and still lose without multipliers . You play 30 coins and win 15 so the net result is a 15 coin loss. I deviated play more and tried for inside straights and kept all two pairs hoping for full houses. Yeah even ace two pairs a few times.

FDC DINING: My favorite subject All meals were comps . Two buffets at Horseshoe and three at the Roadhouse Diner. I learned a long time ago to ask. ALL THEY CAN SAY IS NO AND MAYBE YES SOMETIMES.

I know a lot of you are glad this Tunica reporting is over. I want to thank the few who read my reports and take the time to respond even with my crappy writing ,spelling ,grammar .make up words ,etc, I be thinking ,maybe another board will be more receptive to my banter.

Flights were on time as usual, which is far better than the major airlines.
Total loss was a dozen Franklins with about 30 hours of gambling. Any questions will be answered.

I was wondering why you said no one reads your Tunica reports because you never wrote one here! :evillaugh Unfortunately, this place doesn't pay as much attention to non-Vegas reports either.

But yeah, for the VP player it does suck they closed Harrah's Tunica. But both Horseshoe and Roadhouse offers 9/6 DDB (98.98%) and 9/7 DB (99.11%) at the dollar level. The Roadhouse still has the 100-penny progressive that has 9/6 JoB (99.54%+prog). Best game left for CET Tunica. :( I miss the Almost Perfect Deuces Wild and 40/10/6 DDB at Roadhouse, but then again, I always got killed when trying to play the games. :grrr:

Nice hits on Ultimate X! And you're right about deviating your Ultimate X play from standard DDB. Basic multiplier-independent strategy says to always hold 2 pair. Here is the ultimate x strategy for 9/6 DDB:

Hopefully, you stepped next door and played a little bit at the Gold Strike, as they are starting up their charter flights again.

I always enjoy Tunica trip reports!

Thanks for the report. I love Tunica. I will miss Harrah's. Do they still have the shooting range? That was fun when taking a break from playing. I went to Harrah's Gulf Cost (former Grand Casino) since they closed Tunica. It was okay. Rahter small, no vibe.

Everything to do with the property closed unfortunately. All that extra stuff on the property is partly why they struggled I think. Tons of overhead.

As a no-roller, I'm pissed because the closing immediately jacked the room rates up $20 on weeknights. Now Horseshoe/Roadhouse are overpriced vs. the competition.

just maintaing the 1 billion street lamps from the highway to the casino must have cost a fortune.

The shoe, in the past, was always higher than the competition when it came to rooms.

I think it's interesting that while Harrahs closed down, Resorts is doing a full remodel.

We made several trips to Harrahs Tunica on the charter flights and will miss the place. We also enjoy Roadhouse and Horseshoe but never tried anywhere else. Kind of trapped without a car. Anyway, looking forward to charters starting again from our town.

Cannot tell if you are being facetious or not. But this is old news. I think they also announced yesterday that the new margaritaville casino on the gulf coast is also closing. Not just AC
