Background: I only go to Vegas once or twice per year. Last trip (August), I achieved Sapphire status at Boyd. They sent me, in the mail, a coupon code for four (4) free nights. (If it matters, my "home" property is Main Street Station.) However, this coupon code expired (I think back in December).

Now I want to go back and already booked a flight. No mailer I have received so far includes such a generous offer.

I only need three (3) nights and would like to do them at MSS. Do you think it's worth it to call them up and see if I can use an expired comp code? Or see if they can offer the same offer again without an "official" mailer?

For what it's worth, sapphire isn't the highest level (that's emerald), but it's above the base level...

Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

No experience with Boyd - but what's the worst than can happen - they say no. But they might say yes! Call.

Why does everyone always thing offers/codes only? If you have enough play to warrant getting one, there is a good chance they will offer you something to come back. Just call and ask what they can do.

If you regularly have these offers, and especially if you are just looking for free nights, then in all likelihood you don't need an offer code: just need to phone in and give them your card number.

Have you gone to bconnectedonline.com and checked your offers there?

The downtown Boyd casinos send out monthly mailers and at the same time, post the same offers on the B-connected site. They have month to month offers. Your comment indicates you have been receiving the offers. Was the offers reduced?

I agree with the recommendations to call them.

    Thanks for the replies.

Yes, I have checked my offers on BConnectedonline.com but none are for free nights downtown at MSS (my desired property). The mailer I got from MSS with 3 free nights expired 12-1-2013.

My flight is booked well in advance-- for the month of May. I need 3 days starting on a Monday.

So, with positive encouragement here from the board, I...

    - I called the number on the mailer and told the person who answered that I got a mailer with an offer and politely asked to speak to a host to book a room.

    - I was on hold for a good 5 minutes.. someone picked up (identified as being in Reservations) and I repeated the question... on hold another 5 minutes...

    - Was transferred to someone... gave my card number and desired days and was told I don't have any offers in my account for those days... she said she was in Reservations (?) and I would need to speak to Marketing... asked to to be transferred...

    - On hold another 5 minutes and talked to someone in Marketing... politely repeated the question again and gave my card number and offer code... was told that the offer expired and they can't do anything for me at this time, but to call back in March.

    So, no go.

Maybe something good will post to my online account, but I'm not getting any headway on the phone.

Marketing has no power to give you anything outside of the offers that are mailed to you. Only the host can do that.

When you talk to a host don't mention mailers/offers. They'll transfer you back to marketing because those offers are something that marketing handles.

Host have the ability to review your play and decide if they can give you something up front.

In your case, you should wait until March to see whether or not you receive a monthly mailers for days. If you don't, call back and talk to a host and have them review your play to see if you qualify for comped nights.
