In 2011 I went from Ruby level to Sapphire level, mostly based on table play. I had roughly 41,000 points.

Then in 2012 during my trip (11/27 to 12/4) I watched my tier points go from 41,000 up to 57,000 points till 12/2/12. Then on 12/3/12 while still on my trip I noticed I lost 20,000 points and was down to 37,000. WTF? At the end of my trip I ran the tier points back up to 59,000 points again.

Came home, contacted the Cal (where I stayed most of the trip) and asked why I lost 20,000 points during my trip. No answer.

On the B Connected website they had me listed as 59,000 tier points. O.k., still wondering what happened to those 20,000 points. Oh well...

Then today (1/5/13) I check the B Connected website and now see that I have 31,000 tier points!! WTF......

    Why am I going downhill?

    As far as I know:

I played more this trip than last year.

I visited the Cal (home base casino) well before my card expired.

Maybe any of you out there can explain what's happening? This is in reference to Tier points and not slot points.

I just can't see how gambling more results in losing tier points, lol!:Þ

Your tier points drop off 1 year after they were earned. 13 months really, but one year for round number sake.

They seem to do the adjustment the 2nd or 3rd of every month. By your post, I'm guessing in November of 2011, you racked up 20,000 points. Come December 3, 2012, they are gone. If you are a local, the expiration time is 6 months.

I have a very long spreadsheet and know exactly how many points, if any, will drop off each month.

Yuck...So that's how it works.... My Brother in law asked his host my same question on his past Dec. trip and she told him "If we don't do that everyone will be Emerald status..."

Thanks, Joe. Your explanation is a whole lot better and clearer than her mumbo-jumbo, lol!!
