    My Trip Report

Well, on my bank trip yesterday, they counted up all my random cash I had leftover from this week's trip. Turned out I was down $8!!!!!!!!!!!! These figures include the great air fare I had on Allegiant, $65 out & $65 back! And all of my meals! What a winner!

Stayed at the Fremont downtown, comped for the 3 nights. Played slots only & had my best luck on the old 3 reels Red, White, Blue! Unbelievable.

Some observations from the Downtown area:

***Those street performers are all set up in a line ... not in the way, can easily ignore them & head to my next casino. Nice! I guess the rule is they have to be out so many feet? Works for me!

***The new Filament bar is empty. I counted 6 people at the most seated there. It is pretty but I think they need to do some major rearranging. The old bar close to the table games was as crowded as ever! My thought is... move the tables! Of course, things might look different on a weekend. I saw it all on Tues. & Wed. nights. Also, I was thirsty for that $1.99 margarita. Turned out it was only available at the old bar. Hmmm??

***The prime rib dinner at Magnolias.... medium rare... was just great. Golden Nugget buffet for breakfast with it's yummy bread pudding, just could not stay away. We also ate the comped seafood night at the Paradise buffet at the Fremont. They had very good peel & eat shrimp. Nothing to complain about on the food anywhere!

***Why is it so HOT on the Player's Club side at the 4 Queens??? It was like there was no AC at all in that 1/2 of the building. Luckily, my red, white & blue machines were on the cool side!

*** We used the WAX bus both ways to & from the airport. Why anyone would fuss about it is beyond me. It's one of the best additions to downtown in all of the time I've been going there! $2 ... what a deal. No weirdos in sight, just travelers and a few folks going to & from work. The price is certainly right!

***Played Bingo at the Plaza. My friend won $240! I guess we will try that again! We went to the 1pm session, not as crowded, and used the electronic machines. Fun, fun!

The entire trip went off without a hitch.
Sadly, none scheduled until spring for me.

Way to go! Sounds like a great trip. Do you get free drinks while playing bingo? What is the price range?

I did not see a cocktail waitress at the 1pm session. Off in the corner, they had serve yourself soda and water... just like the casinos here in Iowa.

We paid about $23 each to play bingo, used the ACG coupon for a rainbow pack. Not sure what that is, as we are kind of bingo rookies!! The session was about 1 hr..... pretty cheap gambling.

This coming week the Plaza is hosting a huge bingo event... 3 days I think. Someone on here is connected to the Plaza & could tell us more about that.
It was a nice diversion for part of the afternoon.

Trips like this are great. I get comped by Harrah's New Orleans pretty often and I cash in SWA points for my flight, so the whole thing costs me $150 or so, and that's including cab rides to and from MSY Airport, riding Metro to and from the airport in DC, etc. So if I can win about $500, no easy task but not exactly a windfall, I wind up with a completely free weekend. And even if I lose some money, it's no big deal because free room/free flight/a couple free buffets.

It is a great feeling to have such a good time AND come home with all your money minus $8.
I am still in shock over that!

One thing I wanted to add about Downtown...

We took the shuttle from the Fremont to Sam's Town. It's a very nice bus, clean & free! We played out there just for a different scene and to see what it looked like out on Boulder Highway. I think we spent about 3 hr. there. Very nice place, lots of video poker and senior citizens. We had all sorts of comped dining or 2/1 downtown, so did not eat there. Still, a fun place to go. Not sure I would want to stay there because it is pretty far out.... about 30 min. from Downtown.
