    My Trip Report

My husband and I went to Vegas for the first time back in late March. We stayed in New York, New York, which I would not really recommend. It's a decent hotel, but I really think it would be worth spending the extra $$ to stay somewhere else that is more convenient.

We arrived late Thursday night and were absolutely exhausted from working all day/traveling/time change, so we crashed. Friday we woke up early, had a wonderful buffet breakfast and set out to explore the strip. We spent the majority of the day walking up and down Las Vegas Blvd, checking out various hotels. We were surprised that we only made it to 3 other hotels (MGM, Bellagio and Caesars) and it took up most of the day.

Saturday we spent most of the morning at Paris - both walking around and playing slot machines (We aren't big gamblers). We checked out a few more hotels and spent part of the afternoon relaxing and gearing up for Saturday night.

Met up with some friends, went to dinner at Treasure Island and then went to see Mystere. WOW!!! Absolutely wonderful!!!!! Highly recommended.

That night we went to the Venetian, gambled for a while and then went back to Caesar's to Shadow Bar (awesome bar!!).

Sunday was time to come home.

Quick trip, but well worth it.

You crammed a lot into a short trip.

I had to laugh at your comment about getting only three casinos into your Friday trek. You picked the 3 biggest ones on the strip. LOL But they are good ones. There is so much to see at MGM, Bellagio and Caesars. Each one can take hours. And Caesars....
it takes forever just to walk from the strip to get inside. LOL

Glad you had a good time.

    Thanks for posting.

erininvegas...glad you had a good trip. Curious though to know if your NYNY viewpoint is based largely on location? I'm staying there for 2 nights. I do plan to hang around in that area for those 2 nights before switching hotels up strip. Was there anything about the hotel you disliked specifically?

D Bear - A lot of it was definitely the location - no question about it. We had some issues when we checked into the hotel and was told that they would upgrade our room, but only changed our room (still the same style though). I don't want to say I am a hotel snob b/c I am not, but it just wasn't as nice as I had hoped. I didn't realize it was one of the older hotels on the strip though.

Honestly, there is nothing wrong with that hotel - just far from everything.

Oh, and DELO, I still can't get over how massive Caesars was. I swear it took us 45 minutes to get from the lobby to the restaurant we were on our way to. HA!
