    My Trip Report

So I'm going to start off with my report at the Minneapolis airport when my buddy calls. I'm use to him calling either right before or after I get off my flight, no big deal he is a Vegas junkie and normally we meet their over the last few years. This year our plans didn't work out and he will be there in 3 weeks. So I just he is excited for me to be going to Vegas and wish he was going now. But no that's not the reason, he tells me our casino host is no longer working at the Plaza. Now I know why he didn't reply to my email last week. But my friend says his reservation is still set so I should be good to go. I have my confirm with me of course and hope for the best when I check-in a couple of hours.
This is going to be an interesting start to my vacation. More to come once I arrive at the Plaza and hopefully meet my new casino host.

I will give a more detailed trip report when I get home but I will try to put in some details when I'm taking a break. First the plane ride from Minneapolis to Vegas was quick, we gained an extra 30 minutes to be in Vegas. The plane had two joint bachelor parties of 20 guys going to Vegas so it was an eventful plane ride. More on that on a later post.
The first cool thing happened for my long birthday weekend was with Hertz rental. I got a good deal on rental on a compact car. I don't need anything flashy just something that gets me from point a to point b. They tried up selling me, not my first time renting a car I say no. She asks where we are from, why we are here, the standard stuff. I do tell I'm here for my birthday. While she is doing her thing she asks what kind of car would I really want. I told her a Corvette, it's my dream car. She gives me the key and paperwork and directs me to spot 109. I think nothing of it we go to spot 109 and there sits a freaking convertible corvette!! So my birthday is already made.
We drive down the strip to downtown in the corvette. Now the time of truth is my reservation still there. I give my name but she can't find me at first but I the confirm on my phone. She finds me so all is good.
Now I pull the $20 trick and works but also backfires. So I ask for a room that has a Freemont view and she says wouldn't you want a view of the strip? No I want a view of Freemont not understanding she wants to put me in a nicer room than the Freemont view. I get my way, we have a great view of Freemont on the 6th floor and we can see far down the street. The bed is king size, we asked for a couple of extra pillows. The room is nice and big with a room with a chair, a small couch, and desk. But no fridge? We had one last time and our room was smaller. Not that big of a deal. The bathroom is small but it was small last time to. I'm practical so I really don't care how big the bathroom is.
    More to come.
