    My Trip Report

    Day 1.

    Boom…..I’m awake at 4.45am ready to go!! This is until I realise that to much Saki and beer the night before might make for a miserable flight. None the less my younger brother and I departed for Regan National airport to catch our early morning flight to Newark then on to Vegas. All flights were on time and I managed to sleep for the majority of both flights.

    Touch down Vegas 11.45am { Sat morning } no wait for a cab and $15 later we’re at the check in desk at Planet Hollywood. After a 15 minute wait its out turn to check in and I’m informed that the $20 dollar trick is no longer allowed at the PH but we would be upgraded to a resort room free of charge for the duration of our stay. Nice!

    Not much to say on the room. I’ve stayed here before and the rooms are a decent size. We had a great view and with the free bottle of vodka that came with our stay we got started for the day. We decided to hit up the Bellagio sports book to make our NFL bets for Sunday. I was on the fence about making multiple bets but decided on a 1 big bet and 1 multi team parlay:

    NE { pats } +2 for $500
    8 team parlay for $10 { pays something silly like 500-1 }

    Nothing much more went on other than a few spins of roulette and dinner from Earl of Sandwich { very tasty!! } Hit the sack at around 10pm.

    Day 2.

    Up at 7am and down to the casino level for coffee and a mandatory $25 spin on my lucky numbers 11,16,17,22,27.……BANG we have a winner number 11 for $900ish. Smile would not leave my face for the next 2 hours. Good times to start the day!
    We had made brunch reservations at Zeffirino’s for 12pm so we showered up and made the walk down to the Venetian. The brunch was an all you can eat deal with limitless mimosas/bloody mary’s for $55 per head. It did not disappoint. amazing seafood including lobster, shrimp, oysters with many other pastry’s plus hot/cold food. We smashed about 15 drinks each and left quite loaded.

    Waddled back up to the PH for the 2pm poker tournament and managed to chop with 3 other guys for $500 each. So far so good today. All the eating from earlier had me feeling a little sleepy so I headed back up to the room to watch Sunday’s NFL games and take a power nap. I ended up getting no sleep at all and made a nice hit on the Pat/Colts games so it was off to the Indigo lounge { club/lounge at PH } for a couple of bottles of bubbly to celebrate the days successes. I don’t remember to much after popping the first bottle other than waking up in my room missing a shoe and my younger brother.

    Day 3.

    Panic over, little brother was down picking up coffee and breakfast. As for the shoe I have no idea. I smash my coffee and breakfast sandwich from Earl of Sandwich and all is right again in the world. Well sort of.

    After my mandatory $25 dollar spin { no luck this morning } we head over to the Bellagio to pick up our winning tickets from yesterdays NFL games { I failed to hit the parlay but the Pats done me proud }. Little bro and I place some hockey bets for the evening and in a moment of retardedness take the browns to cover and the over, which we would later regret.

    From the Bellagio I headed down to Harrah’s for their 12pm mega stack poker tournament. I had never been in Harrah’s prior to this and I must say will probably never go again. The casino has a weird vibe to it that I just can’t put my finger on. Anyway, back to the tourney. I folded crap for 2 hour then busted out to a higher flush. Waste of 2 hours!!!!!!!

    So completely pissed off I try to call younger brother with no joy then head over to the Flamingo for some spins. Needless to say 30 minutes later I’m down another $350 and ready to call it quits on gambling for the day { yeah right!!! }. I head back to PH sit in their crappy sports book and wait for little bro to arrive. LB arrives and wants to go do some spins { WTF! } so I oblige and ask where? To which he replies the Flamingo { more WTF??? }

    We death march to the F……….

    I decided to only play $100 in $10 spins on my 5 numbers and slowly get down to my last $10. Then it happens, don’t call it a come back but shazzzzzammmm!!!!!!! 1 hit twice, 27 twice, I up my bets cause I’m feeling it and before long we’re both up around $700 { LB was tailing me }. We head out to the outside bar and get some huge frozen drink each.

    Again from here on it gets a little blurry. I remember hitting up the B for Monday night football and watching the Browns suck…..big time. I guess the bourbon started flowing like water from here and one again I awoke in our room. With both shoes this time.

    Day 4.

    Its my birthday!!!!! 30 today…damm it!
    The plan for the day is to head downtown and place a $20 bet on each one of my numbers. Putting $10 on 17 each spin and $2 on the rest.

    We decided to take the deuce and were pleasantly surprised by how clean and well air conditioned it was. Would def recommend. We arrive downtown in around 40 minutes and take a slow walk over to MMS where the first move of the day is to order up their beer flight/tasting. Can’t remember all of them but the golden and the stout were my favorites. After a couple more golden’s we ordered some nachos and wings. Both were very tasty and our bill came to only $27!!!! { love downtown }. From here we made our way to each casino placing my birthday bets with mixed results. After around 8 casino’s I think I was down around $120??? Also the fire department were having some type of competition on Fremont St that involved running hose and carrying things. All very interesting while intoxicated. Jumped on the deuce and headed back to the strip.

    For the rest of the evening we both played poker { 1-2 no limit } and got as drunk as possible. I must say that the level of play there { PH } is dire which is not a bad thing by any means. I was called down twice with top pair to my made set for $400 pots and I’m pretty sure I was the only one at the table who was surprised by this. LB did just as well as me and we finished off the night with cocktails at the heart bar in the middle of the casino both up around $600ish from our poker session. Birthday wasn’t so bad after all.

    Day 4.

    The booze was starting to catch up with me today so I did the only think to do when hangover….. Drink more. Over to the B to bet on the remaining world cup playoffs { football/soccer } and consume copious amount of Macallum {sp?} Managed to hit the Portugal game and the Irish { in regulation }. The latter paid +450 on a $100 bet.

    We moved on over to the Playing Field { PH sports bar } and ended up playing some video poker for the first time in my life. I had a great time playing for around an hour on $100 and ended up around $50 due to four of a kind queens. It was around 3pm and time for a nap.

    We had 7pm reservations for L’Atelier by Joel Robuchon in the MGM and 10.30pm tickets for KA next door. The meal was simply amazing and I would have to say the best of my life. We both got the discovery tasting menu and washed it down with a couple of bottles of pinot from Oregon. I can’t remember all of the courses { there were around 10 } but the quail and crab cakes were pretty bad ass. Only complaint about the meal was our $800 bill!!!!!!! But I guess it was well worth it. Would def recommend, well worth the cost.

    Totally stuffed we headed next door to the KA theater and took our seats. I’ve been to several cirque shows and have enjoyed all of them but I have to say the most impressive part of the show was the revolving stage. The action was ok it just lacked the quality of other shows I’ve been to. From here we headed back to PH and crashed.

    Day 5.

    Easy. Went to airport flew home.

    Sigh....... I miss Vegas. :cry:

    Wow. Your trip report was what Las Vegas is all about. Making money, and partying like rock stars with the profits. Nice ending with the meal at Joel Robuchon's. :nworthy:

    $800 for a meal? It better be the best in your life. Yes, I realize fine dining tagged with drinks or wine can run that high. LOL It sounds like you had a great time, some nice wins and good company. Thanks for posting. :)

    Loved the report Reedy, thanks. Just one question, who informed you the $20 trick is no longer allowed at the PH and how did you get that upgrade to a Resort room? Anyway, good score!

    BWT, I love your "mandatory" $25 spins each morning. Gonna try it... same numbers too... hey, gotta "blame" someone! Hopefully it will be "thank" someone lol
