    My Trip Report

I am not much on writing lengthy trip reports - prefer to sum it up in notes.

Wife and I flew in on Mon the 18th after the Rock in Rio fest

3 night stay at MGM in an Executive Suite .......... fantastic room. Agreed to the 20 dollar a night upgrade charge on the comped room with 100 $ resort credit. Checked out - totally comped. Not a high roller at all........... Pearl Level - MLife. MGM really rolled out the red carpet for us .............. the wife and I both agree - MGM is now our resort of choice..bye bye Monte Carlo.

Down grade the MGM Buffet. Variety and quality not there as in the past. Hit it late one night and early the next. Go early if you are going to go ........... the side that serves steak (not the prime rib carving station closes early. MyVegas Reward X2. The Breakfast Buffet at MGM is meh as well ............ its good but not great. No French Toast was a disappointment. Did the buffet 2 mornings in a row and the wife hit Starbucks on the last day. All resort credit.

Did the MGM Pool and Lazy River on 2 different mornings. --- Director's Pool was nice but the Lazy River was the way to go.

Mandalay Bay Buffet. - This is a really good buffet. Not a huge variety but everything is very fresh. MyVegas reward.

Sportsbooks at MGM Resorts are now all under one umbrella accounting wise - you can go to any MGM Resorts sportsbook and redeem a MGM resorts ticket regardless where you bet. (AWESOME)

2 night stay at Monte Carlo - MYVegas rewards x2 with VIP Check compliments of the Monte Carlo and 50 resort credit. The VIP check in ............ no waiting in line, complimentary beverages and a wine bar at night made up for an average dated room but frankly almost any room after the MGM room was going to be hard to top.

Diablo's Cantina - very good........... resort credit

The Pub .... happy hour drink and food very good as well. MyVegas Reward

Pool at Monte Carlo - lazy river and pool nice but pale in comparison to MGM's.

Andre's at Monte Carlo ..... Happy Hour drinks Pomegranate Lemon Drops Martini's ........... fantastic.

Sin City Brewing on the corner of Harmon ............ I was really looking forward to this and was extremely disappointed. Average beer and rude service - never again.

SLS - made a visit via our monorail MyVegas reward. Very nice casino with some interesting things to see but in honesty there is just nothing going on here. Within 30 minutes we were on our way. Maybe 12 people in the whole casino mid day.

FRANKIE'S TIKI ROOM - off strip. Quite possibly the greatest place on earth if a Tiki dive bar is your thing. Dark as all get out with great surf music playing. 50 and 60's type of stuff on an old black and white TV above the bar,. And to close the deal - incredibly strong but good tasting drinks served in heavy weight souvenir tiki mugs. This is now going to be a regular stop on our Vegas trips from now on. LOVED IT !

Chicago Brewing at Four Queens - I've seen mediocre reports from this message board on the place but I really liked it. Food was great and the beer was really good as well. Service was top notch - Thanks Bob). This is what I was expecting at Sin City Brewing ........minus the food.

I may add to this later but its all I have right now........... still recovering from the trip so my memory is somewhat white noise right now.

Thanks for the report. Even notes are good. We all have something to share.

I enjoy Chicago Brewing at 4Q and agree the service is top notch. It's part of the appeal. It's a small place so you feel like an old friend when you do a return visit.

    Thanks for posting.

    This sounds fun! :drunk:
Is it easy to get a cab from Frankie's when it's time to head back to FSE?

    Frankie's

The bartenders there will call you a cab, and trust me you'll need one.

Totally agree on Sin City, worst beer ever. I could hardly choke mine down and I can drink about anything. Our whole group was disappointed.

I have some pics of Frankies - I'll try and post them later today - if the bothersome humanoids I work with will leave me alone for any length of time today.

Couple of the tiki mugs we scored ............reg tiki and the Frankie.......... we opted for the rest of our drinks in a reg mug.

Reg drinks 9$ - well worth it

Tiki Mug included - 25$ - very nice heavy weight tiki mug - excellent collectible. They boxed and packed them for us as well.

Hopefully my wife's pics of the inside turn out better than mine. I'll share those when she has time to go through photos.

Thanks for taking notes and sharing with us :) Sounds like a really fun trip.

I am a big Chicago Brewery fan. I love their Happy Hour, and their beers are very good. If you are taking a couple hours off drinking, their root beer is fabulous & helps with concentrating on video poker :)

Some friends went to the Tiki Bar on our last trip, but I passed and I am sorry I did. They also loved it and I definitely won't skip it next time!

Unfortunately my wife's pics of the inside are just a bit better than mine ............. still not worth sharing. You can't really make out anything.

Online image search has some decent pics - search if you just got to see.
