We are currently planning our west coast trip starting in Las vegas. We would be in vegas in the week of 29 march or the week of 6 april. The week of 29 march would be a lot cheaper to go since the trans atlantic flights are cheaper then.

I noticed that the week of 29 March is spring break week for some schools in the US. Is it a good idea to go to vegas then? We are not exactly party people so it would not exactly be a plus for us to have it crowded with spring breakers. We are planning to stay at Aria.

I'm from Europe so I don't have a good view on whether or not that has a big impact there.

Shouldn't be a problem. Spring break varies here with location of the school. Vegas is not as big as one might think for Spring Break...many kids head to the warmer beach areas. I am looking at the week of April 5th myself. That happens to be Easter Sunday next year. The weather should be decent but not quite pool weather yet. We also are not the party type. Weekdays are much cheaper and not as "party" as the weekends in Vegas. Aria is a very nice choice. Anyone there for spring break would more likely be staying at a party hotel like Hard Rock, Cosmo, PH or possibly Flamingo. I wouldn't worry about your dates...have a great time!

As said, Spring Break dates are all over the place. And, the legal drinking age and gambling age is 21. That rules out the first three years of college for most kids. And, Vegas is not a cheap vacation.

I've gone during spring break a bunch of times and this has been my experience as well. It's definitely nowhere near as busy as "grown-up" holidays like Memorial Day, etc. Also, spring break is generally a full week, which isn't a realistic amount of time to spend in Vegas for most people (present company excluded). College kids are much better off getting a cheap place by the beach in a country where the legal drinking age is 18.

    Agree with everyone else!

I will mention that if you plan on staying at Aria, rates may go up during the first weekend of April. The Michael Jordan Celebrity Golf Invitational usually takes place during the weekend of April 4th. Aria is the host casino for the event.

My wife works for the school system so we go during spring break every year. No issues at all with crowds. Weather is usually very nice.

Most colleges are done with spring break by March 29th I think. Definitely by April 6th. As others have said, it's not that big of a deal. 1st weekend of March Madness is probably a bigger issue than Spring Break. I'm annoyed that's where my birthday is...lol

I think the only time I would consider avoiding Vegas would be New Years Eve.
Any other time is good to go.

Depending on the date Spring Break can be slow entertainment wise as many entertainers take vacation during that time, but college basketball conference tourneys are there in full swing.

We always have a March Madness trip to enjoy the games & basketball fans. There are always some SBer's there too. Usually pretty crowded but sooooo much fun! Not sure, but your date may be during the NCAA finals but the crowds then are not as bad as the opening weekend. Enjoy!!

Went there on spring break two years in a row around 6 years ago, lots of Colorado college students I saw many Buffalo shirts is why I know and from Colorado and was there doing our spring break, drunk and loud,******s at the pool. Saw one aggressive guy pushing people down the strip from Ballys to PHO, pushed my wife on the escalator, his buddy apologized, by the time we got to PHO he was getting the crapped beat out of him. This was when Vegas was hurting and rooms at Monte Carlo were going for 35 a night. I assume that isn't the case anymore.
