This year, make your Valentine's Day one to remember with a night out at The California Hotel And Casino. The California will offer special menu options at great prices this February 14.

** The Redwood Bar & Grill - Valentine's Day means a Sweetheart Dinner for Two - start with a glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay; select from two appetizers, Shrimp Scampi or Crab Cakes. A Trio Entre combination of Champagne Chicken, bacon-wrapped Sea Scallop and Petite Filet Mignon with Peppercorn sauce satisfies. The meal is topped off by a choice of dessert - chocolate-covered strawberries or cappuccino cheese cake. Includes soup or gourmet green salad; choice of risotto, baked potato, rice pilaf, white rice or Chef's specialty vegetable for $60.

** Pasta Pirate - The Valentine's Day special menu item will be a fire-roasted veal chop crowned with portabella mushroom sauce, accompanied by garlic-roasted fingerling potatoes and baby carrots. This meal comes with dessert, a swan-style cream puff pastry filled with whipped cream and drizzled with strawberry sauce. Dinner includes soup or salad, and a glass of house wine for $28.

** Market Street Cafe - The special menu item is pan-seared filet and charbroiled shrimp served with potatoes and orange-glazed baby carrots for $12.99, served from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.

    Man, you made me hungry.....

Redwood, Pasta Pirate, and Market St. are my favorite eateries Downtown. And if there is some way I could be there this Feb. 14th I would definitely bring my sweetheart to one of these places!

My Sweetheart and I have been married 35+ years. We are done with fancy places and these are just fine by us....
