I know for a fact that me and a buddy ate lunch at a Trader Vic's inside a casino on the Strip. I was so hungry I ate the garnish and waitress made a wisecrack about it. We walked from the restaurant to the blackjack tables.

I just cannot come up with the name of the casino. This was somewhere between 1976 and 1978.

According to Wikipedia (and for what it's worth), the Nevada Trader Vic's was located in the Miracle Mile shops in Planet Hollywood between 2007 and 2009. The page lists all the restaurant locations over the years that that's all they show for Nevada: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trader_Vic%27s

There was a restaurant and tiki bar in the Stardust years ago. Maybe that's where you were? A menu from that place is listed on eBay for $150.00!

Well, he had a Chinese menu in his hand.

It was on the same side of the Strip as The Tropicana. They still employed sweet looking female dealers who all wore those black slacks that showed off their butts.

I think it must have been dmo'd years ago.

Maybe I'm WAY off, but in the late 70s/early 80s, I seem to vaguely recall a Trader Vic's at the old Las Vegas Hilton...so, like at the complete opposite end from the trop...

Editing to note: According to the internet, the 2007 "grand opening" of Trader Vic's at PH was the first and only Trader Vic's in Vegas...turns out we're both mistaken with sloshy, alcohol-impaired memories.

Yeah, I think you're right. Memories get distorted over time. Sometimes separate events blend into one. I think I'll have a beer.

Am I the only one who pictures Vincent Lauria (Tom Cruise) shooting 9-ball & singing along with the jukebox when I see this lyric?

Thanks for posting the clip, PT!
One of my favorite gambling films, and I never remember to include it in the various VMB "best gambling movies" threads.
