DH had a business meeting in Vegas so we moved our scheduled February trip up and headed out. DH will only go to Vegas once a year. It was nice not to be solo and to have him along. We stayed at Delano. I'm happy to report the pillows have all been replaced and are now quite comfortable. Extremely comfortable beds. All the employees I encountered were very nice and professional. Friday night - Hit two handpays within my first few hours of gambling. The first was on an IGT 3x4x5x quarter machine. The second was on Cleopatra in the HL room. On Cleo I put $200 in and quickly had a line hit for $1100. Within a few more spins I triggered the bonus. Ended up with a $1300 handpay for a total of $2300 from the machine. Pictures to follow. The rest of the weekend I couldn't hit anything on the slots at MB. DH and I then played 3 Card Poker, Crazy 4 Poker, LIR before calling it a night. Saturday – being from the east coast we were up and gambling by about 5:30 am. DH left for his meeting and I played slots and carnival games. Didn't hit anything of interest. Had brunch at the MB buffet. It was good, not great. Good carved beef, disappointing desserts. Saturday afternoon I met DH downtown. We haven't been downtown for several years. We played a bit at GN and then wandered Freemont Street. I was impressed by how clean the outdoor areas are. Went to the D for the first time. Walked right by Derek Stevens. Wandered the other casinos and watched the zip line. We then returned to MB and had dinner at Burger Bar. It was very good. We played some table games and called it a night. Sunday - Again we were up super early. Played some slots and table games. I hit a mini royal flush and then 15 minutes later a straight flush on the 3 card bonus while playing LIR. Next we headed over to NYNY. Normally when DH comes with me to Vegas we stay at NYNY. For a period of about 5 years we never stayed anywhere else. I recently started staying at Delano after it seemed NYNY was becoming very stingy with comps. I really think that if you are loyal to one place they decide they can screw you on comps. Anyway, I was very disappointed to see that most of my favorite slot machines have been removed from the HL slot room. They have been replaced with old style 3 reel machines. What a shame. We played Crazy 4 Poker for a while and noticed that the table felt was disgustingly dirty. I enjoyed seeing several dealers that we know but overall the stop there was depressing. I don’t think I’ll be staying there again anytime soon. We decided to try the buffet at Chin Chin at NYNY. Overall the food was good. The selection was small but adequate. The actual buffet itself was messy. They need to have someone keeping the food presentation area clean. Next stop was Bellagio. I played my favorite IGT quarter machines. Turned my $200 buy in into $750 dollar. Showed some unusual restraint and cashed out. Went to find DH who was playing LIR. He had just hit 4 of a kind. He won the hand, the 3 Card Bonus bet, and the $1 Bonus for a total payout of about $2200. He was happy! We ended up playing at Bellagio for several more hours. Returned to MB and played slots and carnival games for several more hours. I finally had a long overdue wining session at Crazy 4 Poker. Again showing unusual restraint I walked away after tripling my buy in. We had a slice of pizza and a milk shake from Johnny Rockets at the food court and called it a night. We are so not foodies! Monday – We were up early as usual. Played for several hours and then headed to the airport. Flight was on time. No issues. DH ended the trip up $600. He is thrilled. I hope this will inspire him to make a second trip out with me this year. My two handpays helped me keep my losses in check, somewhat. My next trip is scheduled for April. I’m seriously thinking about staying at Bellagio for the first time. I really like the slot selection there.
